Cube tree and Tube tree
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/ava...ndtubetrees.jpg
I started with any old freeform line, decided to give that line depth with lines behind it. Then I made the baseline look like a sloping hill using another line in front of it. Then I suddenly thought SPIRES! and did a cylindrical tower going upwards. Then I started adding more cylindrical tubes on the side of it, as well as tubes coming off of tubes. I then decided that a cube-like version would be a good companion. I decided that the cuboid branches needed to be at right-angles (or near enough) as randomly slanting cubes didn’t sound right to me.

That looks really good for a ballpoint, I do a lot of biro drawings in my school books, but they shall never see the light of the net :gasp: .

Here's my latest sketch, drawn, again, in Theater history class. A little different than the portraits I normally do. =) I've been playing pool every day now....woo!

That's a good sketch overall, but the cue stick at the back looks kinda transparent to me. also, those pockets look too small for the balls to go in them!

Cuboid Mountain
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/ava...oidmountain.jpg
Carrying on from the theme of the last picture, in which I take natural forms and make them geometric, I took something I draw a lot: mountains, and did one of those in relatively convincing 3D. The concept of a geometric mountain doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, nothing really makes sense to me at the moment.

I liked this picture, something drew me too it, only thing I would have to say is that the angles are a tad off, other than that, s'all good :D.

@ts, get to painting that mountain, i have a feeling it can come out looking really nice :).

I decided to take up the advice on shading in some colour into the cuboid mountain, so here it is!
Cuboid Mountain – coloured
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/ava...ncolourblue.jpg
If you read the name which you did, you’ll know what this is about. I chose blue for the colour, as it looks rather artificial and geometric. The main thing you should note is the directionality of the colouring. I’m not really too hot on my shading and colouring skills, so really this is a first attempt at this sort of thing. I tried to make there be some sort of light source from above and from the right side of it, and partially succeeded in this. However, I REALLY need some tips on how to do proper light sourcing!! I will fall in love with whoever tells me how to fix this one up! (OK maybe not)

SEX RED!!!
Yex: I agree with Calco. it's an interesting composition

Tom: I've always loved your style!

Chirty: Nice dragon, looks very streamlined! Does it permanently stay in the air though because It doesn't have any legs

Shanewaier: what sort of look are you going for?

CLiNK: The water colour adds an interesting effect. Wish I had you patients and skill

tsninjapirate: Pretty cool, very cuboidy.

Supersack: Those are great! Especially with the medias you've used! The second one is my favourite :D (and I love your signature :P )
