^ Looking pretty nice now, but I'm not a competent enough artist to know how to improve it. Recently, I've decided to have a completely new direction to my artwork, going for an overtly surrealist look. Here is a currently unfinished piece of work that I'm doing at the moment. I'm showing it unfinished as it's been too long since an update and I want to show what I'm doing now. Anyways, here is the new drawing, you'll have to excuse the significant hit my detail has taken while exploring a new art direction, I should rectify this in later work. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/ava...m-visions-1.jpg Any ideas and comments specific to this new art style are most welcome. |

Looking great, Thanatos! Couple of comments if you don't mind: The right [his right] collar is still receiving too much light. Unless his waist is sposed to be 2' around, you can widen the reflected light there for more realistic definition. gj |

Having recently experimented even more in flash than usual, I discovered how to use the gradient fill tool, and fell completely in love with it. Also, it has become a principle element of the threadstream visions series, with the threads having shiny soft appearances due to the new effect. I can't really think of much else to say about it, so here's the pic, which is so large it's actually the biggest that I could hide menu bars to screendump with. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/ava...m-visions-2.jpg |

Hey guys, im not much of a critiqueererer =/ but i can try and djust dismiss it if its crap =) Raven: I love the smoke effect =) some crits .. your lighting seems to come from some spots but then it doesnt on surfaces near the surfaces it did ... the horns for example have light of their own. i like the detail on the eye and mouth =), some bits look a bit flat though like his chest and neck. Supersack: I like your style =) i havent seen any of your robots in an environment although i havent seen all of your stuff. Sweater: Welcome back hehe nice portrait , *his* right eye looks a bit out of place I dunno might be me but looks good . hope that helps maybe =/ and heres my crappy sketch of some lady, trying to get better poses

Generally Uninterested.

For drawing? Personally, I would suggest starting with making smoother lines when you sketch. If you look at Ang or Com's work, you will notice there isn't any jaggedness in the lines. I think one of the main points at being good at drawing is being confident with your lines. There is always the undo button if you mess one up too.

I agree with Colesif.. about the "where" to start, it depends on what u like to draw, ofc the human body is maby kinda hard to draw.. I usually just draw random stuff from landscape to funny lookin' characters.. itæ's good practise for your movement.. for example, start with getting your lines clean as colesif said.. if they're not clean, the drawing won't be as great as it can be. and don't use full force or opacity when u draw, and maybe draw the same line a few times. I don't know what else I can say except good luck on the drawing;) hope u got some help from this
