If quality is important, export as PNG, you could optimise it in a nother program for JPEG, Flash isn't that good at it. But yeah, the colours are bad because you saved as GIF.

Actually, you should be able to a pull a decent GIF. You're using relatively flat colors with a narrow spectrum. If you export from flash to a high-qual PNG, then in photoshop, do "Save for Web" select GIF then Adaptive or Perceptual color, depending which looks better. Then play with the number of colors to get the file down. I'd say with that palette, 128 colors should be more than enough.

[edit] Flashes export options super crap, so are Sketchbook's. Photoshop is definately the way to go in this aspect.

For those who can't afford Photoshop, Jasc's Paint Shop Pro's image exporter is almost as good as Photoshop's. It's hardr to find, though. You have to choose a format when saving and then click the "optimise" button. The biggest difference between the two programs is that in PSP, you don't get the side-by-side comparision of different filetypes and compression levels as you do in Photoshop.

Good suggestion. I often forget that Photoshop isn't a part of everyone's survival list.

I was just playing around with how I could draw a rock. I went overboard with the grass in some areas, and not enough in others. Ah well, those are the breaks.

Haha, holy crap, you're right! The only thing better than Ganondorf in a kilt, though, would be Ganondorf in a kilt DOING RIVERDANCE!!!

By the way, thanks NOOB!

Well, since I've been neglecting this thread, I figured I'll post a concept sketch I did for a friend. His name is Louie (the character, not the friend)
