Thanks for the kind words. I've fallen in love with this style and these creatures so much, I'm going to try and do one Green a day for as long as I can keep them coming. (I call those little creatures "greens") |

Great stuff AK, your showing some good improvement here mate! One thing i would work on would be your definition of the lips, try to push them a bit more with shading rather than set, hard, definitive lines. Keep it up!!! Heres a drawing a did for a buddy of mine, behold Steve! The Vampire slayer!

Tips - my 2 cent make tumbnails for the composition work in layers from time to time: flip the canwas zoom out or squeze your eyes - check the contrast If you want a natural/realistic look its often usefull to work with low satuaration in colors. Check out others work. I've fallen over a great book at the library: "Digital Fantasy Painting workshop" by Martin McKenna. Its full of great tips for digital illustration. End of tips. Antiseal: it's a really cool character: Steve - be carefull out there wampires... I think his left legs is a bit overstretched - but I see the dynamic pose you've put together so it doesn't matter.. akpaintslinger Really good expressions on the womans faces work on the ellipses: center of face and eyelevel - think into the perspective. The deuce: you do some great and funny characters - they all have a great silhouette.. CombineD: try scanning in true grey - it migth keep the shading Thanks for the comments on my head renderings. Heres another: ![]() Bo |

Nice picture RKTuneKitty! I really like the lighting and shading! This dosn't really count, I surpose, as a daily sketch. But I've got a DeviantArt page now, where I'll be posting all my good art! My Artwork! Click here! So check it out if you want! I havn't looked at all 355 pages on this thread, but I think it's all awesome! -Wiz |

RK, thats not a bad sketch. For coloring and shading (with a pencil) I suggest doing ALL the lines in the same direction. If you don't, stuff can end up looking scribbly. |

Thats a great drawing of your brother. He's looking proud - you have really catched his eyes precisely and with expression. The only thing looking a bit off is his left shoulder - if you "draw through" to the right shoulder the lines don't connect. Bo |

Nice dynamic between the two figures, Sam! How do you manage to keep your airbrushing so clean? (not going outside the lines) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A footman!

I need to learn again how to do it ... but my teacher in my photoshop class showed us a way to make it so you can color within your line art and not out of it. Im guessing thats what hes doing. |

Once you've got your line art, ctrl+click the preview pic on the lineart layer and it selects all the pixels within the lineart. Now you can only color within the boundries of the selection. |

45 minutes I think. I drew the whole contour of it first out of my head and then filled everything in afterwards. The left elbow is weird and stiff. I should've made it flare out more to the side.

Thanks for the feedback guys. To keep the airbrush clean, once i've made the lineart, i duplicate the layer, then merge it with another layer that's just white. Then i take the magic wand and delete all the white on the outside of the copycat lineart then pitch the black to white through the levels option and bam! You have a cardboard cutout of your lineart figure, then i just use that shape as a mask for the airbrush I kinda cheated in the above pic tho, i fiddled with the legs after i made the mask so i had to manually delete some of the airbrushing. @ rubber- I like long necks, it's kinda become a sort of theme in alot of my drawings, i think long necks add some elegance to a figure. |

the undrowned turnabout

As I am always struggling with great difficulties to understand human anatomy, my latest experiment in flash relates to using body mapping grids which imply curvature using line direction - something that I cannot currently do using either gradient fills or the regular fill tool. These are partially traced - the major lines are direct traces with curvature lines being derived from light-sourced colour variances that imply depth and curvature - but with the grids themselves being one colour only. The second one is by far superior and more detailed. I think if I draw these constantly, information about anatomy will subliminally filter in until I get good enough to do these without tracing them - then I'll start reeling out flash! http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/ava...ping-grid-1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/ava...ping-grid-2.jpg |

His right elbow is actually weirder than the left (maybe that's what you meant). You drew the clothing quite well (all of the folds), and also his face, but his limbs are in rather contorted positions. |
