I'm a fan of dragons too :P

sry for bad Q. i have no scanner..so i have to take pictures with my mobile and then transfer them to the computer...
some comments and stuff would be nice! :)

Excellent horse, Wolf88! How did you learn to draw horses so well? One possible critique is that the ears seem a touch too small (although you're a better judge than I am).

Your dragon has some nice proportions, but it lacks feeling (soul, character... etc). It looks like you were very scared of screwing up when you were drawing it. Which is only natural, of course, because a dragon is a very complicated thing to draw. Just practice some more, and you'll loosen up eventually. Try drawing the same dragon from different perspectives and doing different things, for example, so that you get more comfortable with its shape.

EDIT:

ArtRage seems simple at first, but just as with real-life paint, you can achieve many very interesting results just by working with the tools that you are given. This is just me experimenting with some rollers, palette knives and metallic paint (still with my mouse):

and here's a higher-quality JPG version:

EDIT2: Wow, this is amazing, it looks like I can change the paper settings in ArtRage after I've already completed the painting! This means that I can now make a transparent PNG file of my cat:
Posted Image

I'm so happy right now! B) And I think I should be able to import this transparent PNG into flash, to use in an animation....

I had thought that I'd need to repaint him all over again using oil paints, which are really the only things that work when you choose the "glass" setting (the crayons that I used in my original post don't blend at all on glass, and have a completely different texture).

Kenny Mcb, on the first one the queen's left arm is really skinny compared to the right, and the hair on the right side doesn't look right. The second one is really good though, I can't find anything really wrong with it.

Anyway here's my try at a tiger, I know the mouth/nose area doesn't look right, but I couldn't fix it.

That's a beautiful sketch, Tony!

I love the amount of depth in the patterns, and the overall fullness of the piece.

How long did that take?

I see what you mean about the arms, but the one arm is from the side, and the other is from the bicep. She has ghastly features. Her arms are narrow and thin. I might adjust is some so it's not as extreme.

One thing I've learned about drawing anything, is learning the skeletal structure before anything. As for your tiger, study feline skulls some, and you'll get that nose and eyes right.

paintslinger, thats a sweet concept for a battle mount. The expression on the beast is kind of misleading.

kenny: that maggot is pretty intense! i like it

akpaintslinger: thanks! i spent about 5 hours give or take. the stippling near drove me crazy (as it always does) so i kinda rushed it towards the end. unfortunately my scanner couldn't capture the full detail of the face on the floor but you get the jist

btw love the rat beast! cool sketch. you should develop it further

here's a quick 3-min sketch of my little brother. he plays a lot of video games making him a perfect subject :P

Hey, Tony. I really like your sketch. Maybe use some darker, thicker lines to create a contrast between the subject and the background? It makes the drawing pop up nicely.

Here's a poster I sketched in MSPaint. It took me awhile, because I had references and I tried to make them as accurate as possible...

I love MSpaint, because it doesn't need much skill. It opens up fast and there's everything I'd ever need. And believe it or not, I actually like the shitty line quality. :bing:

yeah I agree I should have darkened up the background a bit. kinda blends in with the hair

thats a great picture. very cool style, and the line quality adds on to it
