More from my Metroid Prime 2 theme week.

Actually, I think this theme will overrun slightly into monday or tuesday, when I'll do drawings of Samus and an Ing. Can't have a Metroid Prime 2 theme without them!

Okay, so I am at my parents house in rural ruralsville and I couldn't sleep last night and I drew this (on paper), but I didn't have my digitizer tablet so I just sort of experimented with colors because I knew it wouldn't be a final if all I could use was the mouse. So, this is a rough draft, and I know there are a ton of weird things going on, but, any suggestions for when I start over and color it again? I want to have the lines be other colors than black, but at this low lighting level, anything any brighter and more colorful is too bright...but whatever, just give me as much criticism as you can, I'll add it to the final! Thanks!

DUDE that looks soooo awesome, what program are you using again? The stance is great! Something that humans could do but don't actually do a lot so we recognize ourselves and yet something alien?

The only critique I'd give is that his left upper arm is way too short and thin.

I love the sabbath ( Its not the sabbath today , its Thursday today but we are free on right from Friday at our high school) so I have some free to slack off on the web :D.

So anyway here are some sketches I did recently which I then took and combine on one sheet using that transparent paper :D.

Btw these all sketches of my friends from class and one on the left is a lil' bit based on myself.

Could you guys give me some tips on how to clean this scan?

On one more thing: I love your sketches but I cant browse through 300+ pages...

Levels!

Open it in Photoshop and do CTRL+L [CMD+L] to bring up the levels dialog. Drag the white marker closer to the middle to increase the white thrshhold, ditto for the black marker. Hit OK when you got it right.

If you want to do only nondestructive editing to the picture [iow, leaving the original image intact so you can go back to it], then instead of doing CTRL+L, go to the layers palette and look on the bottom. There is a row of buttons. Click the one that kinda looks like a yin-yang and you can select any one of the available image adjusters. Select levels in this case and it will create a Levels layer and bring up that same dialog box. The advantage to this is, if you decide that you want to change what you did with the levels later, you can just doubleclick the levels layer and change it. You can hide it to see what the original image looks like. You can edit its mask layer so it only affects certain parts. You can stack adjustments, and rearrange them for different effects.

thanks DeLine but im afraid my style is more born out of lack of patience than an intentional attempt to emulate a certain style. The blotchyness can be an irritation but it takes ages to get anything looking smooth in my corel version
anywho new doodle poorly rendered

Your blotchyness has become your style and it works well. You can instantly tell when a design is yours which is a benefit. I'm having problems slipping into a style and envy you greatly
