Wow... that's just... wow.

That's not a "copy" of an image is it? Or did you just use other images as reference.

wow.

Nope not a copy. I used a pic of a real wolf as reference to sketch out the basic shapes and where I wanted to place shit, then it was all freehand pen. If ya saw the original it puts this to shame actually!
I somehow managed to "rotate" his whole head! :gasp:

that is a great picture!!
but the only flaw I notice is the placement of the eye. or is it just that I have very bad judgement? :worry:

Always great to see more pictures in this thread.

And Tordy ( :P ), I know you hate to hear this, but it is a little bit bracken-esque. The thick black outlines is all you, but the green, blue, and gray seems a bit familiar...
I say all you need to do is vary the colours a little. Add a little yellow here and some pink there. Then bingo... masterpiece.

hum bleagow, I was just using ur disney-effect coloring tut.
I wanted to point sumfin out:
when you get to the point where u r making the mask for the fills, i noticed you went around and messed with gaussian blur and levels.
instead, when you still have the selection, go to select>modify(i think)>contract then contract the selection 1-2 pixels.

Yeah. It's having outlines being a darker (or sometimes lighter) shade of the fill, with soft shadows on their outside, and some gradients in important places.

That's how I understand it.

Yeah the reason I didn't do it that way is because in the past I've gotten some funky edges. It's mostly a matter a preference. I prefer fine tuning it visually with blur/levels method than taking multiple guesses with the Expand/Contract selection. 6 in one, half-dozen in the other... :bfoot:

[edit] I'm super anal about clean edges in Photoshop. Just one of my many obsessions... ;)

I'm going to have to completely disagree with you. I think that the colours are actually quite the opposite to what you would define as 'brackenwood colours'. And to add to that, is there some kind of patent on colour shades relating to brackenwood? to my knowledge there isn't.

I'm sorry to bite, but tordeck cops way too much shit from everyone about "copying adam", and frankly, it pisses me off. it really f**king pisses me off. majorly. Lay off him, everyone. He is trying to invent his own things, and because they might be stationed in a forest (fairly generic if you ask me) and forests tend to be made of greens and blues, it doesn't mean he is copying Adam.
