Those sketches are awsome. You use gradients in a really nice and subtly way. So I was thinking about potential names for a website, and inspired by Gel's weird website name (girlshavecooties.com), I came up with "children under the bed", as a play on "Monsters under the bed". (Here's a rough concept pic) ![]() Unfortunately, after thinking about it for a second, I realised Monsters Inc. kinda beat me to it. I wasn't thinking of that movie when I came up with it, but I have to wonder if I was sub-consiously influenced by it... So what do you think? Too close to Monsters Inc.? |

All the crit I can give is that the sheild looks a little odd, almost looks like it would be facing the other way, another thing is that his neck is a bit too long. and the neck should have some mail on it aswell

Alright, just edited my post above with a new edited version. Like it says, the shield was off balance (cant believe i didnt notice that) and his neck was fat and long, so i made it a bit smaller. As for the neck mail... i think medievil history will forgive me on that one. tell me what ya think

the way the shield is on the arm, when he moves his hand infront of him to "shield" and he puts his outer forearm (the part with hair) towards the oncoming enemies the shield will be upside down....just my observation... |

Matt? My secret has been expooooooosed. *melts* Thanks Tim. I might just use it yet. (p.s.: You actually can call me Matt if ya' like. I was just kiddin' before.) That warrior is cool, but his shield is on backwards. Nice textures though. |

Well, the neck contour should be softer, a more gradual flow toward the shoulders. The chest is a bit oversized (something I tend to do allot) and some pieces of armour face the wrong way, giving a rather "flat" impresion (imagine that guy bending his arm, ouch!). But overall that's a pretty nice pic tough! Oh, and the feet are a bit inconsistent. |

thanks you guys. Im really trying to get a better look at anatomy, i should probably use refrences in my work, becuase a big problem ive had lately its just the way his body fits together. Heres a double fixed version so his shield aint backwards. As for the neck, thats just how i like to draw necks, i personally think sloping the neck has a more feminine quality, where as for him a bit more masculine. But i dont think his neck is wrong as far as a anatomy standpoint...... i think. But his anatomy needs a double check as far as he looks a bit clumsy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/oo0...oo/61c5e1bd.jpg And what do you mean by various proportion problems noob? The ones i really notice now is; his chest area isnt centered, his arm (our right) looks like its over his chest when its clearly behind (indicated by shield). and the shield arm may be a bit too big. whats everyone else think? |

Don't listen to n00b, he dreams about girls with razor sharp teeth and big-fuckin-red eyes
 Just keep studying anatomy and those problems will eventually solve themselves. Focus on the spots you're having trouble with. ...thinking about it, I should do some more anatomy myself <_< |

actually no,anatomy and proportions are two diffent things.and learning one of em won't automatically make everything fall into place, its like saying *once u learn how to draw eyes,u will be able to draw a whole face perfectly, yaaaay!* <_< u can have a perfect arm with all the anatomy correct, but if the arm is too short, the pic just becomes f'd. seal, first of all,his shoulders are too far out from his neck, there isn't clear definition between his bicep and forearm area, waist is too thin. i won't go on,cos sumone will just drop me a dumb comment like "Don't listen to n00b, he dreams about girls with razor sharp teeth and big-fuckin-red eyes* anyway, not sure how long u have been drawings, but keep at it,all in time. Thanks noob!... Im aware there is a difference between anatomy and porportions, obviously  But anyways, Thanks for the suggestions, i think is just boils down to getting the body sketch anatomy and proportions all right. Everything else will boil down after. But then theres that... clothing problem.... Aiie... theres is allot more to drawin then anatomy and proportions... thats for sure. P.S. Been drawin for real for about one year now, just turned 16. |
