The Token Black Guy Posts: 3,141 Group: Brackenites Member #363 Joined: September 13, 2004	ah pretty good pretty gud. my fave wud be the first one. but now i can see where the problem lies....in the neck. i think the main issue is how u connect the head to the neck,it shows more in the last one,underneath ur jaw,theres kind of a flap of skin that goes from ur chin to ur neck,kinda diagonally,where as in ur last pic its just head...neck :lol: 1st two look fine to me! another thing from the first and third,is ur necks are tad too long. wud luv to see more,keep postin.i shud start posting more sketches,i started the thread and ain't posting much. my cycle was gud? HAH! maybe the drawings,but the motion sucked.

But I also, am not a big fan. I kinda find it all to be the same when u melt down. runs from anime fans edit- i also like some of the anime expressions as well.

The Token Black Guy Posts: 3,141 Group: Brackenites Member #363 Joined: September 13, 2004	hmm nice start. however...i wud suggest this is sumthin i learnt from traditonal oil painting that u start from dark shadows and work ur way up to light,select the face area,fill it with dark brown,not black,and set ur brush to 10% opacity with a lighter colour ,mid brown or sumthin...and just keep adding strokes and making ur brush colour lighter as u go still at 10% opacity. trust me it will all come out better. edit: i'm guessin ur using photoshop btw.

I am really not that much into oil painting art, i just did those for fun! I usually just do sketches, and maybe color them in, not oil painting style. THanks for the advice though, i will use it next time i make a human like face.

Im a fan of anime, really becuase most other cartoons, like american cartoons. Dont have the same cool feel. Some i like, like Frank Miller, and some from marvel. (Runs from American Comic fans) But this is simply an opinion, dont think im saying ones a better artist, becuase im not. What i am saying is I like an certain manga influence into my work. To me, anime and manga are very very different things. Anime is the globalized term for, Big eyed, small mouthed, tight chinned, crazy haired ANYTHING. Where as you could class all manga as anime, but it all look different. And i cant leave out that anime and manga has a very unique genre of its own, and its very identifiable. If you where to place some batman animations up and some Bastard or Cowboy Bebop, it would definatly looks different. Just the same as if you took on Manga artists sketch of a body, and another artists of the same body, they would look different. After all, Even Alladin has some anime elements in it. What im planning to do is get mainly Manga influence into my work, But dont worry, i have no plans to make my style "harcore" anime as you say :lol: But rather i just want to make sure i have the anime style down, so i can better build off of it, and make a style of my own that i like. Call me stupid but... eh, thats just my favorite influence.

The only thing i can suggest is the hair, it looks well to computer made u know what i mean? Its to thin and it doesnt look like a part of his head. But other wise the rest is great!
