yeah i think so, cuz u can see the paint lines quit easily, and kind of doesnt stay within the lines (which isnt a bad thing, i think it looks cool) maybe whacky wasnt the beast choice of words, weird might be beter. --crit-- the dress looks to stiff, let it hang a bit more, and im not sure if im right, but the legs looked a little weird/ |

what i dont get in photoshop when your painting with the brush or whatever, is when u go over something you've already painted in makes it like darker (which seems normal) but its all transparent like... what brushes do you use in photoshop when you are painting (specially nooby) |

thanks everyone really appreciate the comments!
bussman, i cant really speak for noob, but the way i did it was layed a base color for the whole tree that was transparent, then would keep brushing over it til it got to the darkness of my liking, i would also mix it up with different colors as well, as for brushes, i used the normal one, and what ever looked approperaite enough for the cat, its hard to describe. heres anohter paint test, I didnt really focus on the atonomy (i wish i did tho) so im not gonna bother finishing it. just practicing painting a bit more. pretend this thing is sitting on something and it wont look AS bad ![]() crits pleaseese the arms really made me mad in this picture, hard to color to set off from the body color so it stands out....i dont know how noob does it.. can i have it?(jk) ive always wanted a black cat with yellow eyes

whoa! i'm likin how this thread is getting more prolific *i even learnt the word PROLIFIC in this thread
 *and i'm impressed at what i'm seein great work guys!!! ................ Buss, colesif, try not change opacity settings on ur brushes,it can make the pic look washed out, which is great for water or metal effects, other than that its a bit meh.,i changed opacity too,i only stopped doin that recently  ..instead *THIS ONLY APPLIES TO U GUYS WITH WACOMS* use pressure brushes, with normal hard brushes, the harder u press with ur wacom, the bigger the brush becomes right? but with pressure brushes the harder u press on the wacom the darker the colour appears and vicer versa. confused? scroll down ur brush menu in photoshop.at the bottom u should find some pressure brushes *i think.....i'm not sure if they came with photoshop or i downloaded em,i can't remember* the brushes shud look like this,i have arrows near the ones i usaully use. ![]() u'll see how they work once u get em i use em,but again, this only works well with wacom users, mouse users,sorry..but i guess u'll have to live with changing the opacity settings. ...... colesif,is ur metal character there male or female?? without the face,it looks like either a woman with very broad shoulders,or....a guy with man titties.....maybe thats sumthin to think about. ...... i haven't really had any time to work on my pic,but i got back to it today cos i'm on holiday, anyway,in the close up u can see the brush strokes cleary, when u zoom out they are almost non existant,i got lots of work to do and correct, not even 10%done yet....phew... ![]() |

If you really want to get better at it you should try to go to CGCommunity or Conceptart.org, allot of pro's there who are willing to give tips/crits. BTW, that's starting too look great n00b. Disney might ask you to animate Destino 2  |
