Ahh, sorry Noob... I thought that might be the case with why you bashed the tort, but the way you said it confused me
 I mostly agree with you, but I also think that doing a tutorial that complex would help people that aren't yet adept at illustration to understand a general procedure for laying down color... not to say there aren't many ways for developing tone.I am a sad, confused little girl.

I need to fix that. I have two colored things in the works right now, but one's rather simplistic by my standards and doesn't really count. I'll try to remember to post them when/if I finish them. I work on this for some time. The name of this guy is Drake. To learn more about him. Just visit my forums. And I want to give a shot out for mongoose for helping me upgrade my forum. This drawing i made and painted. It took me a total of 1 week. Its good and all but I need a lot of comments in order to go to the next level in my skill. So tell me what you think and if its needs something or something is wrong point it out. I want to learn. Coments i need your conments. I live for them. I hunger for one. Did you use photoshop? In that case, you need to have the pencil lines in a seperate layer, and mark it as "Multiply" instead of "normal" That way, you can paint inside the lines, without getting the terrible grey lines beteween. And that would save you a lot of time! And maby some shading. Heres a quick example:  Ok, I tried a new painting method. I saw that lots of people are starting the painting by blocking in the main colours, to get the overal look of it before they finnish it. So I did my first atemt of "speed painting"(20 mins) (1 layer only) I didnt plan anything, I just ended up with some weird snake\sperm creatures..

i took a break from paintin,cos i'm gunna be working on a mortal kombat animated short soon. heres two character designs so far,Sub Zero and Sonya Blade,i didn't add any shading yet as i wanna make sum corrections in the design and anatomy etc, and wohooo,i found a style that doesn't look like anime finally. anywho,tell me whatcha think so far,s'all done in flash.  EDIT: oops forgot,sonya will be holding a prop,just showin u without it for now *it'll be a shot gun or sumthin* |

Looks great Noob! The proportions looks very nice too=) maby you could have used the brush tool instead of pen tool?  Sonja's face looks a bit like you drew it without zooming to much into it in a way... other then that it looks exellent  Have you showd us your "Master and servant" painting in this forum? I dont think Ive seen it here=) Good job btw

i don't really like teh brush tool much,it makes colorin too difficult <_< like selecting an area for cell shades,and then it colours the friggin lines aswell,arrghh! oh and Com i wasn't too proud of my master and servant,i had to rush it in the end,and its not sumthin i would like to showcase,thats why it ain't up here. Glad u like,i'll make the lines thinner on her face so it looks better,i still have to fix her face anyway,the jaw is too pointy. any idea for things i cud add guys?sub zero looks a lil plain to me. edit: lol com the brush edit looks nice...i'll have to think about the brush tool though.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,i just have so many issues with it. |

NOOB, cant wait for that MK short. As for Sub-Zero maybe add his ponytail at the back, thicker gloves(if you know what I mena), maybe add fur at the top of his boots... oh and you must add the dragon symbol. I have nothin for Sonya Blade sorry. |
