Thanks for the compliment...It looks like you got the hang of it, Nice job! As far as giving the bushes MORE tecture...keep doing what you are doing I guess...they look textured enough to fit in with the foliage around them to me....The bushes farther to the back could do with some of the similar technique you are using for the bushes that are brighter in the forground.... |

Check my location.

Instead of darkening the back woods' colors, I add a layer and paint over with light alpha'd grey, but I don't know if that works in Photoshop or Fireworks or anything. The further back, the stronger the grey. |

quick scribbles from Alias Sketchbook...![]() I was trying to draw the "matt Groening" animators style, But I dont know I got it right.. I would love to see adam sketch some disney characters like Donald,Mickey, Bell (beauty and the beast) Didnt he animate her? Can anyone else here draw some disney characters? I suck at Donald\Mickey I think they are so hard to make em look like the real thing... |

you got the Matt G. thing going pretty well, Com! The guy with the headband sorta looks like Zap Brannigan (Futurama) on donald though, his bill is facing more towards us, while his face is turned more to the right. It looks almost exactly like the real thing though! |

Donald's face also looks slightly too thin. It's stylitically spot-on, though. I'm very impressed. Oh, that arc in the guy's back? Sexy. Yum. |

Yea, I must'nt of done a good enough job so far because its supposed to be like a parting of the red sea....but i realize the horizon thing should be blue because it confuses it with water....... I am also only 1/4 of the way into it so no wonder its hard to realize what it is.... |

Buss, this is meant to be constructive.... so please take it that way!
First off I notice you have the same bad habit I do. You tend to rush through your preliminary sketch. Stop that man! Spend the time in your sketching to get everything set up perfectly, that will make the job of coloring and inking sooooo much easier for you! This much I am telling you from experience, cause I have to constantly remind myself that my art isnt a race, and I have to slow the hell down myself! The second thing you need to get some grasp with is perspective. Read through some tut's and get an idea of how it is applied to drawing. Take a few weeks and practice it, your work will show an immediate improvement after you have dedicated some time to it! Then just dedicate some time to whatever your "medium" is going to be. Whether that be pencil, paint, Flash, Photoshop, whatever. Learn your tools! Read through some tut's on the digital side of things, some books on the traditional side. Some of the things I noticed on the plus side however- You are starting to use shading and color variation to depict shadow and depth, great stuff man! You are also not limiting yourself to "easy" pic's, but rather you keep pushing yourself.... that dedication will help you big time man! Practice, and I guarantee you will look back on these in six months time and say "what was I thinking???" |

You may consider doing the far land mass (the dark blue thing) using greens... This would tell us it's land, but also green is indentifies with lush vegetation and thus prosperousness. So, it would be ike the promise land on the other end with the menacing red sea between us and it. I'd also darken and desaturate that red a bit... it's a bit harsh....
I think he's being symbolic... |

Hemroid (...
 ), I like the color you used for the sky, it's quite evocative. The picture's looking pretty flat though. You can accomplish more depth by giving the ground closer to you more detail and shading. Then give the ground closer to the horizon less saturation, push it towards the color of the sky slightly, and add some highlights from the moon. Still very nice; it's quite a bit better than my first picture in photoshop.

If so, some stretch marks would be in order, and they shouldn't be quite so rounded at the edges. Gotta love constructive crits
