Lookin good Cole. If I had one crit it would be the light source, the light seems to be coming from infront of him but the moon is behind him. Unless you have a second light source. Good job. |

maybe in another drawing, im basicly focusing on just drawing characters at the moment, id love to do backgrounds, but im really no good at em, i know practice makes perfect, but uh....... hmm..... Yeahh (kinda walked right into that one eh?)

looks nice man, i think your startin to get the hang of painter! but the lips and nose look a little weird, i like the hair and the shape of the head, also, try to make the eye sockets a little more apparent. one thing i noticed, but not so much in your last 2 pictures is that they look a little to sketchy for their own good, i think if u could reduce that a bit, you could have some really nice pictures, tryin inking over the sketches instead of coloring em.  im bored atm, so im gonna draw on your pic a bit to see if i can show u what i mean. hope u dont mind.  i didnt do the lips because quite frankly, i cant do em either also, the nose i did, looks more like a beak, so dont pay attention to that, just the eye socket thinghope i was helpful in someway

wow eye, thats beautiful! im really impressed, everything on it looks really good, the mountians, water and clouds are quite impressive man!
only thing i noticed, and that could just be from the scanner, but i see yellow blotches in the middle of the picture...but thats not even that big of a deal. |

Damn it! I had nice long critiques for Eye, Cole, and Espen... And then the internet closed her venomous jaws over my post, swallowing it whole, and it shall never be seen again. ARGGH!  Short version: I'm so proud of how everyone is improving. It's a beautiful thing to watch unfolding. Eye, extremely nice landscape. The saturation looks a little heavy on the front elements and the clouds look a bit out of place... They look like they ought to be large clouds, and yet they are small and resting between the islands. On the other hand, the colors used for the clouds and background are stunning. Nice detail. Espen, study your anatomy, use photographic references, and take what Cole said into account. I like how you experimented with that girl's skin tone a little with the purple. Cole, it's quite amazing how your talent keeps unfolding. Nice ruff on Lucky, nice posing. Other than the lighting issue, I recommend that you tweak the composition; the foot is RIGHT AT the bottom of the picture. This is usually a no-no, and I find that when a major bodily detail is sitting right on the edge of the page it's visually distracting. Also, experiment with other tail positions. Pretend that the tail is more like a snake: It still expresses emotion when aroused or angry, but it usually chooses to take the path of least resistance, body following in the wake of the head, belly to the ground. It's not a perfect analogy, but I'm curious as to why Lucky's tail is always hovering by his shoulders. Cats can hold their tails both high and low. Lucky's tail is not just an accessory. It is a tool and an expressive marker. |

Yeah wow. Nice stuff ppl! Eye, that's a stunning landscape! Not to go aginst wot Ang said (she really does have a keen eye) but I kinda like the clouds.. it gives it that 3-D'ish effect that draws you into the pic. I hafta agree with the foreground crit tho... perhaps mute it some or else do visa-versa and give it the focus. Might have to adjust the composition somewhat to get the right effect but I'd tend to subdue it a bit and keep the focus on the mountain lake. Awesome water FX btw! Really great! Espen, you ol' artiste you. Nice work. The poor girl looks a bit mishapen in the pro-boxer sense but your style really shines through in all your works. Stay at it fer doggone sure! Nice! I've always cheered the loudest when Lucky comes on stage so it's a given that I give a thumbs up to Cole for that one. My only crit is that the hind arm shouldn't be so hidden. Otherwise nice work. great bloody piece of art there eye. looks really well. ur art skills have come on aloooot! again, like the eyes post, my post isnt technically a sketch either. but i also didnt feeli i should start a whole topic on one pic. The actually line art i didnt do, i got it of neondragonart.com, which provides line art for those who want to practice digital colouring and painting. so i thought i shud give it a go. i will draw myown line art character sometime soon and color it. ( i want to get used to digi colouring first)  original line art image courtesy of neondragonart.comcrits, hints tips plz. (btw, the boots suck and it aint all 100% finished, but i got bored and thought, frig it, thatll do for now) |
