wow. That one's great Nodron.
I dont think theres much you can improve!
maby just add more sharper "glossiness" highlight spots on the creatures skinn.
like the legg forexsample. Make the skinn more wrinkly. I dont now...
It looks good allready

thank Comlock, I'll probably be doing the sharper detail part, but that'll be for tomorrow, it's already late hereNow I'm going to create a bg

Salute & Tallore!

Haven't had much time for drawing lately, but I made this quickly for a friend of mine. Didn't take longer than a few minutes.

I like the way the guard turned out.
(Oh, and this is from the game Metal Gear Solid, for the few of you out there who haven't played it)

Elehpant, excellent as usual. I said it before, but I love your style.

Decided to draw my friend... there's a lot of parts i'm unhappy with, but w/e...

Then I showed the above pic to another friend, and she asked me to draw her.... so here's that sketch... eyes suck... if they're not perfect, then it doesn't look like the person it's supposed to be...

Very cool Tom. I'm sure you figured the prophile just needs a little work, nose, forhead. But the hair is exceptional! What medium is that? Was that watery look accidental or purposful?

And that second one, all you need to do is round the corners of the eyes just a tad. and the jaw is a little funky. I'm lovin the lips though! My sisters and I all have thick lips so I guess that might be why I don't do thin lips well....

Thanks a lot Ignia! You're one of the first people to actually crit my stuff... granted i don't post much stuff, but w/e... i know the nose on the first one is blurry, but i don't know if i see what you mean about the forehead... is it the smudge above the eyebrow? Oh, and the hair was a pain in the ass, but i wanted to get perfect :D It's pretty close to how it is in the picture... and i just imported the picture into photoshop from Alias Sketchbook and smudged the hair, and darkened it a little to get it more wavy, and less scratchy...

And i just plain don't like the second one haha... except maybe the nose and the lips...

but yeah, just drew 'em in sketchbook, and cleaned them up in photoshop

Oh, sketchbook...

*Ducks down in a corner with an Academe sketch book and a pen worth $0.25*

Forehead- bridge of the nose, I'm going to call it 'stark', if that makes any since...

I can tell you were going for that semi-prophile, but I think you should have rotated a degree or two to the left of your model because it's hard to tell.

I like how the blurry effect makes the hair look highlighted, but it also accents the rest of the portrait.

Yeah, well. G'bye eveyone. This'll probably be my last post in here (unless by some myracle I either get a digital camera or a free 4 hrs alone with my sketchbook. Which is highly doubtful because those 4 hrs should be spent working on my AP portfolio)

ARGH!!!

Well,

I, about to die, salute you!

Mwa! *kisses hand and waves*

the shading and big shadow don't seem to agree with eachother... like with the big shadow, it seems like the light source is low, behind him... i don't know... i'm probably wrong... and his hair is a little plain... but it's good, Bodot... i like the eyes

Tom, that's really great stuff! Looks very clean and accurate. Hairline on the second one is a bit off I think, I think it should be a little lower.

^^^ from below

She has a big forehead... trust me on that one  it looks bigger than usual in the picture i looked at...

Hey Com what do you mean with that dog-cat-dog stuff? Anything to do with the cartoon? Awseome drawing BTW, love the expression. You've got yourself the hang of drawing dogs haven't you? :bing:

Different, love the style, love the character, seems very animatable aswell.

Bodot, you've been watching Nurbsy's tutorial? I like the character, but his feet should have been placed in perspective, he's gonna tip over if you leave them this way.

I should sketch more myself, been doing quite some last week, this week seems very slow tough. I think it would be healthy for anyone if he could put out a page of studies and sketches each day. Would definatly fast forward your drawing skills.

Tom - you are right - the shadow on the ground was a bit fast....

I should know - I've been reading Adams great chapter in New masters in flash - its alot about light and shadow.... :bitey:

Rubberhead - Drawing is the minds rest...and sometimes it looks like...

-you're right about the feet and perspective - some more pose in the next one.

Thanks

Swashbuckler, I've been noticing (between your FF character interperatation and this skecth), that you're people tend to have long necks. I mean this one's just got a really long neck :P I'm not sure if this is a common trait that you're characters posess, or if it's just a conincidence that these two have it, but I just thought it was worht mentioning if you hadn't noticed it. Looks good though, not bad at all for a 2 mintues sketch :)

 I've never thought about it before, but yes, my characters do tend to have long necks. Thanks for pointing it out! :D Does it look weird?? *I love getting constructive critique, so feel free to tell me exactly what you think!*
