Hey Dragon, which apps + render do your use? Been thinking of doing some more 3D work myself. Looks really nice, anatomy is a little weird, but that's not bad. The material looks great on it. |

Cool stuff Dragon Ninja and welcome. Fantastic render you have there. Z Brush is a crazy program and believe it's one of the best 3d modeling programs out there. Enjoy your stay...

Yeah man, compared to the one you howed me on bebo its much better. Although its a great 3D model there are a few mistakes regarding realism, for example his teeth are positioned on the outside of his mouth where he would really have lip flesh covering the teeth. In other words he is missing a lower lip. But again I realise you weren't being overly anal about the design and it was more a fun piece. How long did it take by the way? It is still a great model. I like the texture of the skin. |

it took round 6-10 hours on and off, i had alot of trouble with the teeth caus I dident have enough polys around that area to work with, so it was a trade off, teeth, or lips, for me teeth win every time, but i know where I went wrong so the nxt crazy critter will be more realistic. any suggestions on a subject? i was thinking some kind of japanese demon. |

Hey dragon nina, have you looked into Mudbox? Its like ZBRUSH only it was developed by WETA so its geared more towards people that have actually used 3d programs like maya. The tools and amount of polys you can crank it up to is amazing, its literally like working with clay. Also, I think your dinosaur is looking pretty awesome, the only thing I think I would change is the eye. Unless its the style you are going for, it seems kind of flat and the pupil looks painted on. Other than that, the detail and textures you have is awesome. speaking of eyes, heres some WIP shots for a project I'm working on, crits are welcome. ![]() ![]()

Thanks. I just used a human eyeball as a reference, and took a picture of my friends eyeball for the texture on the iris. The rest of the textures I made with photoshop/maya shaders. |

Its taken about 15 hours over a few days to get done, which is fairly quick, but it was a tough build, very odd shapes and details and very little referance material made it a challenge, its about 50 thousand polys give or take 100 . |

Wow, thats amazing
I've got an assignment at school at the moment where we have to design a building/setting for a game, I'm a little annoyed because we have a 20 thousand poly limit. |

ahh i hate poly limits realy cramp my style
its not really fair either, with Xbox 360 and PS3 20,000 polys is nothing, good luck with your project calco

as promised heres the textured ship i did today, texturing is not my speciality so no jokes about how it looks like its made of lego caus i know all about it, plus its St. Patricks Day and living in Belfast demands some traditions, aka, i was wasted when i did this

That's sweet! Did you make all those panels separately? or did you extrude and give them different ID numbers? It doesn't look like lego, it looks mad as! |

all the panels are modeled and I gave the whole model one overall texture and picked panels out to have different textures, eventually building it up, then rendered it in video post with some engine glow |

Dragon Ninja that is some awsome bloody work. I love firefly and I think your model looks brilliant. How long did it take you to get to that level in 3D |
