holy shito Jack they are frigging awesome. i love ur scenery! i also love the blurry realisticness (that a word) of ur backgrounds, and then u have an infocus tree outlined to the right, which draws ur eye and looks superb, great mix of PS and Flash! . ur skies are wicked too. any sneak previews of it yet mate?

Haha thanks :D.

Well, i been working pretty solidly on the backgrounds for a few days (so much so i got a shooting pain through my head and my eye which wasnt too nice lol). But yeah, unfortunately i got lots of stupid coursework to do which means im probably not gonna be able to do anything of significance on it till next summer :yfok: :worry: :gasp:. Which is pissing me off.

Luckily though, one of the two courseworks i hav to do is on animation, so its not all bad.

Also the story as a whole is gonna be split into 3 parts... so i'm gonna go through the whole first part drawing backgrounds, and getting the stage ready for me to just add the characters and sounds. By gradually doing background/stage slowly, then the harder bit (actually animating haha) won't be confused and messed up with drawing backgrounds etc.

I also got spend a day or too videoing myself "fighting" with a friend, so i can really study how the body works in a fight... maybe make it something different from other flash movies... Like, rather than flashes and quick movement, you actually see the whole fight in a sequence rather than white screens and like sowrd slashes etc. (although they are still cool :P).

So its quite a big project... Luckily next year i finish college and am taking a gap year, so i can dedicate a lot of time to that then. :P.

That's cool different name :D, i like the 3Dness of the robot. It looks futuristic. But is the whole thing just the robot standing in the door way?

u better not be rotoscoping. *keeps an eye on Neo*

but at the same time, if u rotoscoped it well, it will look great for ur module, cuz i doubt many people wud realise. animators dont like it cuz its cheating and doesnt look as good, but any lay person wudnt notice.

Any lil aniamtions for us to see yet?

Hahaha no, i dont like the idea of rotoscoping. Back when i was first starting, i tried it.. and it just came out messy... the movement was good but it was all wiggily and yeah :S.... Just not good.

Decided to get back onto the 3D horse today after my two week absense. Here is Tsukasa's staff from .hack//SIGN. I'm a little annoyed with how the neck turned out, but I think I know where I went wrong and how to make sure it doesn't happen again in the future. :D

C&C very welcome.

Edit: Let's just pretend I spelt 'studio' right. I was in a rush. :P

Just a sketch until I realized this is really close to how I want the main character to look in the project I'm doing. I drew the lines instead of color and though it gave a shitty comic book feel to it. It resembles disney style, but they're switching to 3D so who cares? :yfok: It's not final, but it's close.

Here's a shitty doodle I was doing just now...

It's been so long since I really cellshaded a character, and since allot of people in here are ontop of it.

So I'm using 3 shades and a lightsource form below, shading isn't done yet, and lineart is still shitty...
It's PS btw...

Not shitty at all, IMHO. Clean lines for PS, nice cell shade, and I really like the unique head shape. Keep cleaning it up, it looks really nice.

The only place that doesn't make sense to me are the "wrinkles" (?) underneath the arm.

Great pic Rubber. Kinda like a Platypus/Alligator/Elephant. Wouldn't that part at the bottom of the stomach be in the light though? Or is it being blocked by the foot?

That picture is just something I looked up real quick. It wasn't my inspiration. I don't like drawing anime... I only tried that once and didn't like it. I can watch it, but can't draw it.

That's a great pic boundless, I love the bags under the eyes but what's going on in the neck? It's a bit messy down there. You're right, it does strike a resemblance to the shoulder-hooks guy, and isn't that the mechanic from Atlantis?

1) Yeah I don't like the neck either and I'll fix that on another sketch.
2) shoulder-hooks guy? Are you talking about my old sketch? I didn't say it resembled him at all
3) I never saw Atlantis, I just looked up a random slightly recent disney movie.

^_^ thanks! Gaia is a good place to get practice in with clothing designs, one of my weak points. I have a hard time making up outfits and costumes from scratch.

Any suggestions for fabric textures? I was trying before some filters and brushes to make the pants look more like jeans/denim, but I couldn't get it to come out looking right.

I think they look good as they are. Seeing as the whole outfits one pice (it is isn't it?) it wouldn't really make sense for the bottom half to be denim while the top isn't. It has a very cool hippy feel to it, the flares especially, I don't think anything needs to be done honestly.

Very nice, Prophet! Damned good job on the bass... The strings look so realistic I'm wondering if you didn't use a line tool? I like the subtle glow effect on the wings, too.

It looks as if the bass is about to pull her off balance, though... And is that a rip in the seat of her pants? :P

Though I think it looks fine as is... You may find a 'denimy' sort of brush under faux finish brushes. (if you use Adobe).

I'd like to show off a small test scene I've done in my movie. (just click the link below.)
