Thanks Com, high praise coming from you... Yes, it's 100% photoshop Bussman, except for two of humble's textures to "naturalize" the woodland setting a bit.

Loosely speaking Cole, a furry is an anthropromorphized animal, and it's something of a lifestyle that some people adopt. They have sort of a bad (and undeservedly so) reputation where I live. :worry:

Looks wonderful, Ang. If I had to pick, and I always do, it'd be the hands; scale-wise they don't appear to match up. The hand that's hanging to the side of the character looks almost a little bigger than the sword holding one (the one closer to the viewer). The sword hand shoulder be largest.

All in all, it's rather minor and given the soft treatment you've given the piece, it doesn't actually reach out smack me that their scale is wonky. In other words, if it was me, I'd probably leave it.

-------------------------------

Dig the new one, Noob. I'm glad you incorporated the scarey horse in this one, it's eerily endearing. I'd echo Ang's comment about the horse below "Scarey". But, it's sort of hard to judge at this point given that I'm not sure the purpose of the horse. Is it serving as background/scenery or will it be given some focus in the final rendering?

[edit] I changed my mind, Nubian. After looking at it again, those three legs need to change IMHO. It upsets the rhythm of the piece. Everything else is ungilating and whirling and then "Straightly-Legs the Horse" spoils the party. :P

[edit] Furries? Anyone else think that sounds a little dirty?

damn u people!!all right,i'll change that horse, didn't want to be too repetative thats all.but i guess he does ruin the dioganal flow of the image, party pooper <_< :D

good thing i didn't bring it into painter yet.*switching between painter and photoshop too much can corrupt ur file.

now to think of a horse pose that won't ruin the pic...

edit: and furries is the actual name for that type of work humble  i dunno, maybe its ment to sound dirty.

Oooooh no, that's not the dirty one... If you're feeling brave and over 18, go look up the word "yiff" on google. :gasp:

From what I understand, it's because a small minority of people who draw anthromorphised animals like to draw porn. Then other people generalized the whole group based on that minority, which is kind of hypocritical since none of then attacked Walt Disney for being an anthromorphised animal artist.

[edit] You're right, noob. ew... :gasp:

I know a guy that searched 'gay porn' on his friends computer at school while he wasn't looking, then made one of the pictures his desktop background...yeh, he got banned from the computers for 3 weeks.

And steering this thread back on topic. I recently had a dream in which someone told me that Oylef was cake in hebrew. Actually cake in hebrew is Ooga, so I decided that there must be a message in my dream. I was being instructed by supernatural forces to create a character called Oylef. And the significance of the cake is... the creature has to be fat ;) So today I commenced skecthes of my character, who's likely to change many times over the course of the week. So far he's an obese squirrel type thing with a pouch. I've decided to write his name Oi-Lef. He has a flap of skin stretching from his hands to his hip (like a blood-coat), but because of his weight, they do him no good. Instead he often falls out of trees when attempting to glide from branch to branch, and often lands on other animals, much to their dismay...and concussions.

I'll be sure to post some pics once I've done a few more skecths :)

First attempt at painting with Photoshop Elements. I'm using this for a background in a very short animation I'm using for a collaboration. The small image links to a larger version. The perspective isn't perfect, but I don't think it matters too much.

thats pretty cool Markham. i like how its not so clean cut, like the edges of the buildings. i see ur ninja chatacter uo there too.

one crit: did u do the sky on a separte layer? if so ignore this,

U can see how u coloured it in with the paintbrush especially around the edges of the buildings. like as if u used markers or something. its not major, but it may look neater on a separate layer, and as a gradient with details added on top. but like i said, its not major and it still looks good.

;)

Haha, nice. The lyp-sync was a bit off in places though. When she says 'home' for the first time it stalls, and when she says 'room' it dosn't look right. Other then that it looks good ;)

it was very nice, but am i jerk'ish if i say it needs work?

(but hey, who am i to crit, my lipsyncing sucks)

Nice job
