Looks good, but a couple things don't look that natural. Firstly, his arms stay in 120(ish) degree angle the whole way down. When I act it out, my arms straigten pretty soon. Also, I think he comes up to fast, maybe a very slight pause at low and increase speed up. He also changes size a couple times, don't know if that was intentional or not though. Lastly, he looks way to happy Other than that, great job!Ok, this has been getting me very frustrated. I've been working on this for three days and I cannot get it to look right! I'm trying to animate a forced/distressed smile (you know one where you cannot hold it and it drops momentarially) and this (link) does not look right. Please help me with this. |

Thanks for c/c both
I think you're right Bacon.. the speed is way to high from his low position. About your animation: my suggestion is draw the "poses" / the expressions you want to finish with and then inbetween it. Also try to include his cheek/chin a bit. I don't know if that could help you. Good work though - keep it up. Bo |

Huzzah! I just hosted what i have so far of my animation. Posting for suggestions... C & C all that stuff. But it is a WIP so be gentle. I chose most symbol as my medium, but i have FBF thrown in. Ide like to do it all FBF but that would be too much, especially for the simple stuff. Its supposed to be funny, and informational. Its something maybe someone brand spanking new to WoW or any other mmo would watch. http://www.deviantart.com/view/22864831/ Enjoy. |

Hi everybody! Just posting some WIP pics of a Sci Fi docks environment. I'm learning to make much more detailed models than I'm used to by viewing the plethora of Max Video tutorials over at www.3d-palace.com. It's completely untextured and very poorly lit, but you get the idea. Let me know what you think. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good start on those pics bussman, but alot of the war ones are missing proportions and perspective. Im not sure what those others are supposed to be. Tree man/men? |

Very slick, Yembles. Did you use NURBS, polys, or a mix? |

It's pure polys. I'm a complete noob when it comes to NURBS. It's very poly-heavy, as I'm sure you can imagine. There's some serious slow down on my computer unless I start hiding bits of geometry. That's good for me though, I need to learn that lots of polys does not equal 'bad'. What with the improvements in gaming technology there's no such thing as 'low poly' anymore anyway. But anyway, to answer your question: Polys.

Education and practice, mostly. I hope to use the skills I learn to create stuff for games and films. Eventually. This won't be used in anything like that as it is based off a tutorial, so doesn't really belong to me. Good way of learning though. |

"Low poly" certainly DOES exist if you're on an old computer. It's all relative. What baffles me is that Zbrush can handle something on the order of a few MILLION polys at once without slowdown, yet Maya and 3Ds Max start spazzing after a few thousand. There's probably a good reason for it, but it still confuses me. |
