Thanks Arthur.

Yeah. I have really shakey hands... I think it's the smoothness of the tablet. It's like drawing on glass. I think I might put a sheet of paper over it and see if that helps.

Drawing on paper would be a good idea, but there are no decent pencils in the house. I'll grab a few next time I'm out.

if you try to draw a line to slow on the tablet Jem, it will get that effect, just because hands are kinda moisty and have friction with the tablet, try quick strokes, that might help a little better, but then again, i hold my pencil differently from anyone on this board im sure, so i could be wrong  the faces look nice btw, but the lines definetly take away from it.. hope i helped.

another thing you could try is washing your hands to get all of the oil off, because ijust tried to make sure my theory was correct, and i proved my self wrong, cept for the fact that my hands were super dry and un sweaty.

i unno, ive talked to much

I think my problem was that I was trying to use a single line to draw everything (ie, I wasn't taking the pen off the tablet) to I WAS going very slowly. Speeding up and using many pen strokes, as well placing paper on the tablet, has helped a lot.

Here are my latest doodles. Let me know what you think. :)

I'm following along with the tasks in Loomis' "Fun with a pencil". He says 'Draw silly toony faces' and I follow.

Don't worry. In a few pages he'll start talking about the ball and plane. I have faith in Loomis. ;)

EDIT: Actually, having looked at 'Drawing the Head and Hands' I think I might migrate over to that book. It has far more anatomy in it than 'Fun with a Pencil'.

Omg NOOB. I listened to you. :gasp:

Here's something i'm making in my electronic art class (a catch all class for computer art programs, like photoshop, painter, and flash). I drew the robot on paper, scanned it, and colored it in photoshop. The background is a photo i found online, and edited in photoshop. I really like this style. I should scan drawings and color them in, more often.

Good job, DifferentName. It's blended very well! I couldn't tell at first glance it was a photo background. The coloring is right on for the robot, though a little bland on the background. His left forearm looks a little small... Perspective demands it become bigger!! :bitey: But not a bad picture at all. I can't quite tell if those are fingers on that arm or not.

Bussman: interesting character! He looks a bit like the robot before him... yet he wears shorts!!

This is a background from my latest animation, Ambulen. All drawn in flash. I was heavily inspired by scenes from the Brackenwood movies. Took me a few short hours!

That's great, Rade. I see you've smoothed out the shoulder action. Nice. Lookin' forward to seeing the finished production on that one!

Different: That's friggin' awesome, man! Nice work.

And Buss, same to you. It looks an awfull lot inspired by Differentname's work but very good just the same. You have a lot to live up for after the potato canon but this is a really good start. Also nice, dude!

ak: That BG is superb! Beautiful stuff. Very nice. Hpe to see it soon in an animation or something. Keep it up!
