I really like the texture and the colors of that piece Shayne. Reminds me a bit of Monet, except you need work on your lighting :P

You have really muddled light sources, shadows, and highlights. Are those "streaks" the light source? If so, how come there's no shining on the water and Dr. Scrooge's shadow is on the wrong side? I'd go back and decide where the light is coming from and build some appropriate shadows.

Also, that grass on the horizon could stand to have the saturation turned down. It's an interesting piece overall, though.

Edit: I wanna try to get a site up and running next summer. College keeps me too busy to put in enough energy before that.

Thanks for that Red, majorly appreciated! Posted Image

The light rays were an afterthought, that I should have left as just a thought.... they deffinately screwed with my lighting. (Did I mention that I think lighting is what I need MAJOR work on?)

Im thinking I should do another, and pay closer attention this time! Posted Image

DO another, Shayne. I don't think it (The light streaks) messed with your lighting as much as it drew attention to it. Great pic, and yeh, I picked up on the Monet theme straight away. Nice! B)
Hmmm... that's water huh? Yeh, don't know how to fix that up but something is needed. Still really nice work.

Id love to know what i guess u would say 'type' of pencils are used for like those sketches (like 2H or HB or whatever) because i plan on getting some for x-mas, along with a drawing desk

For pencils, I use the following:

-> Non-photo blue colerase.

-> Ebony pencils (I can't read the brand any more, it's too short :P But it's basically the step above 9B. As far as I know, it's the darkest that pencil leads get).

-> The good old mechanical pencil. I find that Pentel's are the sturdiest, but any will do really.

-> Rarely these days, but I occasionally use a 2H pencil for light shading or sketching.

Also invest in a good eraser. Magic Rubs are awesome.

Thanks for the review. :lol:

The best mechanical pencils I've ever used are from Muji. Being made of aluminium they're fairly robust. They sell big (normal sized) ones as well as small (about half size ones) which I prefer. They're cheap too.

Yum.

Love it Espen - but my favorite final stand of all time was in Transformers season 3, when Predaking simply declared to Tornatron - "to the end!"

ps. I didn't draw this lol

The Black dot is me, its the story of my ever so long quest. Ill have to add more to it but thats a little something of many others to come. Well Crits would be the main thing but tell me what so you think it is. Then I shall know if I done my job.
Also one more note. I have to get to the other side of it. ;)

Nice sketch, Espen. There's a great sense of contrast that so many sketches lack.

Awright, Rade, I'm going to guess that's a big wall in the middle dividing a grassy plain and a dry desert! I'm a little curious as to what the quest is about... Care to fill us in?
:++:

Here's a profile I made for a monster in my movie, Ambulen...

Hey, I've been working on a new character for some animations, all critisism is welcome.

Malachi Emnity:
Here is a sheet with my character. All of these were transfered from sketches using a Graphics tablet.
I tried two different styles with the upright walking one. One is drawn with the paintbrush (The one I prefer) and the second is done with the pencil tool (it looks too neat in my opinion).
So yeah, here they are.
