 Here's something I was sketching and shading in last hour today. Later American Studies (aka History...bleh). I haven't done any shading in a long time, so I decided to try some of the Brackenwood inhabitants;

looks good shen.....though....it looks like either you've done that on the back of a sheet of paper (hence the spiral on the right) or you're true to your...um....asian?....heritage and go from right to left?

Haha. Actually, I was trying to save some paper from my lil portfolio I carry around by using both sides of the page. But I'm half asian, if that counts.  Mom's phillippene, Dad's american, I was born on a US base in Japan.

After I realised how much work it needs, I'm moving this picture to this section. Do the lines on the skull make it look too busy? And thanks for the suggestion on the hand-made font humble. To pay you back, I'm going to totaly rip-off your style. Deal? Hm... the hardly sounds fair. Well, hope you don't mind that I was inspired by your work. That's actually the style of font I was searching for before I realised it would be easier to make it on my own. Edit: I'll just edit here.  Cleaner design, leaning more towards 'happy' than 'doom'. In fact, there's just about no 'doom' in there. But it's sort of funny that way. Crits appreciated. Another quick edit:  This would probably be the last position of the face after an animated sequence. |

Did you sketch out the structure lines on this one? Your vamp mouth is way off and your missing his forearm. I did a super quick sketch as for as layout problems.  I'd suggest turning her head away from him so as to expose the neck he's biting. It could also help distance them emotionally. Right now she's so close they could kiss. Has she fallen under his spell? Or is she an unwilling victim? Also, I think you need to work on your anime hair. Mine is total shit, but normally anime hair is streamlined. Yours appear to be random with too many spikes. Anyway, hope it helps. And draw something NON-RADE!
Though I like the pushed expression on this one, it feels too clean. What did the bones go? |

I was trying to get a grasp on different techniques to paint clouds last night. This isnt a WIP, more of a "play sheet" just to experiment with. I was fairly happy with the outcome however. Can I get some crits regarding the texture, and anything else ya wanna comment on?

Yeah, my sky went spacey when I was playing! Still using Pixarra, Im trying my damndest to get some nice work out of that program. One of these days I will sit down and learn PS.... or so I keep telling myself!

The space/sky thing reminds me of a Ren and Stimpy background... like one when ren goes insane, and it shows a quick flash of an abstract background... I like it, but the stars just seem to stop... good stuff, though, man! |

TheEYE, that looks really cool, you are a brillient pain ter, wish i was good at painting, seriously i went into my art class with a green blazer on costing a couple hundred dollars ready to paint and half way through i stood up and paint drooped off of me, splattered up my arm and blazer, shirt and trousers. everyone else was just quietly painting, i got a quarter of the work done..

heres the underpainting for another self portraiy i'm working on.... a few things i've noticed about this one is,i need to make alter the jaw lines,fix some parts of the nose,and the eye brows stand out a tad too much. but anyway,comments and crits appreciated especially in this early stage,please tell me anyting else u see that needs work.  Ref : Myself in mirror,this time i hit the lights off and got a torch for better lighting. ...................... and heres the life drawing i wanted to paint up,i tried to fix the arm,but anyway here ya go
