No, you're right. I was trying to get that translucent effect when light passes through the thin part of an ear like that, but it didn't work out and I didn't want to spend more time on it. I should have found a reference.

Good eyes. ;)

-------- Edit
Couldn't find an ear example, but here are some others I googled:

All I can find is a shareware demo that costs $25 for the full thing.

Actually, I wasn't terribly impressed with Toon Titan, it was a bit redundant, IMHO.

AnimSlider Pro on the other hand, is a fuckin' killer little flash plug-in that is rather engenius in it's simplicity and execution, but further, is probably the most useful plug-in for Flash ever. If you're an animator of course.

I've been working on a semi-quickie concept for our General Twinkles using his special weapon C.U.D.D.L.E.S. or Carnage Uttering Dual Diaphragm Laser Emitting Squeal. Here's the work in progress:

Humble, that's insane!

I think "Carnal" would fit better than "Carnage." "Bodily Uttering" makes more sense than "Corpse Uttering," and it rolls off the tounge easier. Rolls off like a laser. :bing:

Oh my, that's very special. The eyes are kinda freaking me out because they're not reflecting any of the green light.

Just so you know, Carnal and Carnage are not synonyms, though they have the same root. Carnal generally applies to intense lust, not butchery. Not the word you want, methinks. Perhaps death by Snuggles? "Sacrilegious Necrosifying Undead Genesis Gatling Laser Energy System"? Just a suggestion, your original CUDDLES works well already.

I think he was refering to no. 3. Definately not the more used meaning, but valid non-the-less. ;) :P But, perhaps carnage is the way to go. Meh.

Oh they be there, friend. It's just hard to see with my quick blocked out color over the sketch. Right now, you can make out torsos on the outer edge. I definately want victims a plenty with this little devil.

They are in the pupils and touch in the retna. I just tried to keep it subtle, because I didn't want a wall of green washing out too many features. Same with the eyelashes, realistically, they'd be green too, but they blended too much with the fur. I was trying to balance it and keep that hint of cuteness to contrast the holocaust that's coming out of his mouth.

HE that kicks ass. Can't wait to see the dissolving skeletons.
And when someone was bitching a while back saying that the light coming through the translucent ear was making it look convex, they were just plain-ass wrong. It was very successful.

Thanks again for showing stuff in progress. If you have any early versions of the Munch propaganda poster left I'd love to see one.

Yeah, I still don't buy Markham's particular use of carnal. "Carnal uttering" doesn't make sense; that means the bunny is spewing body parts, where as your original means "unleashing destruction."

As far as the eyes go... did I say I didn't like the freakiness? Sorry that my initial statement came off a little negative, as that wasn't my intent. I think it works really in its own fashion. My point still stands that there's (realistically speaking) not enough green, but I think that choice highlights the features you wanted.

Good show all around, I really enjoy seeing your work.

Bah! Never said you didn't like it. Just commenting on the comment. Partly, because that conflict arose when I was painting and I decided to go "less realistic". ;)
