humble, that pic is just too frigging cool. i love the pure contrast between cute and DEATH!!! lol looking forward to it finished. by the way, i wasn't bitching at all, and it was only MY opinion. i also said i may have been wrong, (well it appears i was PLAIN ASS wrong now instead) And IN MY OPINION, i think if one could see the light source behind the ear then it would look more like the effect he was going for. to me ur post came across a little condescending <_< but at the same time i know its hard to convey a tone of voice in text. |

Well I've been easily convinced to show something I'm working on. Here are extremely short clips from a piece that I am making about several different stories of a dystopian modern reality. The drwaing style is intentionally expressionist, however I would like to apply some reality to the animation and movement. Any crits would be great. Blink and you might miss them though! Clip one Clip 2 Clip 3 (red ball of DOOM) EDIT: Oh I should probably add that they are unfinished. |

I know, Juggles, Idon't think his post was meant to insult you but rather compliment me. So, I wouldn't taked it too hard. BTW, I still agree with you that it didn't quite come off. Looking at it again with fresh eyes, the light passing through should have been more in the left bottom crook of the ear, to suggest that it's coming from the yellowy backlight. Hell. Maybe one day I go back and fix it. Note: Sometimes I get the feeling that people don't feel they should critique me for whatever reason. So, all I end up getting is praise, which feels nice, but one always needs constructive criticism, no matter what level they are at. I make critiques on works far greater than mine all the time. So, everyone should feel comfortable doing that here. Some good critics I've noticed here lately are Angenfil, JuggleBalls and Rubber. They usually balance their comments with praise and suggestions for improvement, as well as deliver focused and specific feedback. So, if you 're looking to improve your criticing skills (which is a HUGELY important and valued talent in the professional world), look at their posts. Good night and good luck.

Spent today making a scrolling topbar for an upcoming website of mine. -Please- let me know what you think. 175kb. No preloader.Oh, and currently it scrolls via tweens (and not very well) I'm looking to do it with actionscript so that I can update it easily whenever I need to. I'd also love it if the object you hover over gently moves to the center, rather than just stopping altogether. If you think you can help, let me know.

Another good functionality is to scroll in the direction of what side the cursor is on. That way if you accidently pass something you want, you can go to it quickly without waiting for it to loop. |

Good plan. I'll see what I can do about that when I get to coding it -- EDIT: Did a few thumbnail sketches for site layout, plus a few other bits. Any thoughts? I'm thinking probably the top left at the moment, though bottom right has potential, if done nicely. Except for the header.

Damn, Yembles, that's some solid planning you've got going! ![]() You're right on with the scrolling topbar--- it'll be great. But I have to comment on this robot fella here!! ![]() Did you get your inspiration from a valvetrain? His feet look just like valve seats! What brilliant design!! And the website design-- I think the top left would be the best choice-- but the top middle wasn't bad, either, though. Here's another quick idea for you: ![]() |

Thanks everyone.
I think I'm going to go with the top left design. akpaintslinger: Actually my inspiration for those models came from the Mega Man video games. The point of the site is that I will take requests for classic video game sprites and turn them into 3D models. Mostly in order for me to improve by doing but also so people can see classic characters from their childhood in new and exciting ways. That's a nice site design you did for me, though I think I'm going to go with the vertical menu-bar to draw the eye down towards the content, rather than across to the edge of the page. |

That's some solid work there, Shenorai. The resemblances are quite obvious! ![]() You've captured the forms of the figures quite well and done some great shading on them. I would recommend you polish up that shading with some highlights! Here is a quick touchup I did in Adobe with the dodge tool. Note the fatsack, bigfoot, and the prowlie's hands: ![]() I say--- you're fairly good at those! Keep em up, eh?

that looks good. The only thing i would say is that i dont like the empty look of the top corners. It makes the page look, I dont know, but it makes it look abit empty. Maybe if you stretch the banner to the edges. Overall it looks good and its better than most websites (including mine hahaha) Oh and kellar i watched your WIP again and i noticed that the guy doesnt seem to mind that he just got his hand cut off. Lol i know that if i go my hand chopped of i would be abit angry and scared and there would probably alot more blood as many arteries would be severed. Just a suggestion use it or lose it i dont mind   |
