Jesus, that brilliant Commie. How you ever managed to be so damn talented and have never taken a single class is beyond me. I suppose lots of practice and particiaption in this sort of thing, not to mention a love and dedication to all art.

Actually, I havent scaled it up yet. Right now its only 1200 pixels wide times something.
I think im gonna scale it up tomorow and paint over all the details, grasstraws, shadow\lights and so on. (It will be 5000 pixels wide times something)

In the last challenge, I started the sketch and everything in highresolution. It was a nightmare to edit the picture, and my computer was stuggling tremendosly (Even with 1.5 GB ram)

not bad man, im liking the coloring on it as well as the unique character design, lets see him jumping into action poses/ dancing, he/she seems like it would be fun to animate

Can u post some model sheets?

Here's another screenshot from my game.

In the screenshot, the player is in a crouched position after slaying a posessed knight. The bottom frames show different character motions.

From Left to Right: standing, walking, using a weapon, and jumping (well hes actually about to land right there)

EDIT: I dont want to be misleading so just to let ya know - the knight has the sword and arrows already in him. In the game you hit him with your own sword and he falls onto the one sticking out of his chest, which pushes it further.

this is from a sketch in my sketchbook...inspired by women....not my love for women..how women make me feel on the inside :o
anywho...here it is...I know his right foot is blurry...that's only 'cause I made his left foot too big...and it was a little more complicated to make..so I just scaled up his right...
any anatomical flaws anyone wants to point out?...please do!!
Posted Image

edit: can someone please tell me how (if I can) change the size of it when I post it?
or would I have to use a separate program to resize it?

edit dos: i know his right breast is a little big...and he's not gonna be bald when I'm finished...I just don't consider hair part of the sketch phase...;)

Hey, Villageidiot! :bfoot:

Solid construction on the head!

But for a drawing that expresses your feelings, the body looks a bit stiff around the joints. The ankles and knees inparticular.

Don't be afraid to draw up messy 'roughs' of your drawings first! That way you can easily experiment with limbs, joints, poses... and get all the ugly out!

Work on that anatomy--- I won't name names... but compare your sketch with a few anatomical references and you'll start to pick them out. :)

If it's critique you're looking for, you should post in the Daily Sketch Thread!

P.S.
Images can be resized using any default photo-editing software on your computer, like arcsoft, paint.NET, paint, etc.
CTRL-R is the typical command for a resize. :bfoot:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Currently, I'm working on a flash application to display inventory images/floorplans for an RV dealership. This sort of thing is fairly new to me, and I know next to nothing about actionscript regarding these sorts of applications.

Check it out here. :)

It's all assembled on one timeline, with three main sections: images, floorplans, and decor. It's set up so that both the images and floorplans sections have 'slots' in the timeline where an image is dropped in. All the corresponding buttons in each section are linked to its partner slot.

When everything is set in place, the empty buttons are deleted, and the file is saved as its according brand name.

Of course there aren't any images in this one as photobucket doesn't won't allow jpgs in flash. :yfok:

The main concern thus far is filesize. The size of the jpg's really racks up when the brand has extensive models/floorplans.

Also, there is a concern about time and efficiency. What if the current design is inefficient? I'd be very grateful if any of you familiar with this type of flash could give pointers or voice concerns--- as I'm about to start using the template. ;)

Rollout buttons are something I'd like to give a try on this one, too. (think that's what they're called). The type that expand in the 'over' position.

Hey Comlock,

I know that Throwback is way beyond the "any comments/crits?" stage, but I have to weigh in on the pose when he's riding the motorbike.

He seems awkward to me in a way that so few of your poses ever do. Is it in the middle of movement? Is he meant to look too small on the bike or is it a shot where he is supposed to be looking cool?

Anyway, here are two variations on your pose, if you don't mind :)

Posted Image

In the first, he's doing the "rider's slouch" with his back curved the other way. In the second, I put him closer to a classic "chopper" pose but without raising the handle bars (so as not to change the bike too much).

As I say, I don't know the intention of the scene, and it's probably well past tweaking at this point. Just thought you'd like to see these ideas.
