Nice perspective on that pic, Nubian (hope you don't mind me calling you that). Mal: I like the solid structure and pose on that character you have there, but like Ang said, try something more original with a little more intrigue and mystique about him/her. I must admit you have some talent for a young gun... I thought I'd contribute to the thread, it's been a while since I last posted something but meh..  Drew it a few days back, I aimed for the 'creepy' sort of feel to it... I'm still deliberating with myself as to my continuation with the piece.. (Tits is his name by the way)

no, i mean i turn 15 on the 18th.
but she's 38!  heh. i know what you mean though. im always trying to go against the common elements of things. almost to a point where it becomes noticable that im deliberatley going against that stuff instead of being creative for creativity's sake. i'll also fix the shoulder real soon. [EDIT] OH SHITS!! i just checked my profile. it says i was born in 90. i just corrected it. im now 14 for ten more days again.

Alas, youth cannot know how age feels :lol: Bappy hirthday mal in advance. Crikey, your future's so bright, I've gotta wear shades. Thanks so much for the crits ang, I was imagining my light source coming from the left and a little in front, so I tried to place all the highlights on that side of the spheres. Obviously its far more complicated than that, but I can't get my simple mind around the theory. I thought the right 'arm' and leg section would be quite dark because of the shadows cast by the other molecules and bonds, so I really pushed them. I can't think how an artist would determine the throw of multiple light sources though!  I'll think it through again and post up the results a bit later. Thanks again.

Mal: You could try to make the face less round\short, more masculine or make stronger face features, like narrow eyes, big lips, long nose and so on. That could help them look a little bit older. I didnt quite manage to draw in your style. I cant understand how you're able to make those snout noses looks so good in your drawings^^ some quick poopy examples ya:  With age, the face often gets more masculine\sharper feautres, when it hits the 40s, then it goes back to more round features again.

Pretty good so far Mathulus.... but I think it needs to be slowed down a bit.... its running pretty fast to really portray any "sneakiness".

That sneak animation looks realy nice Mathulus. The end result looks so much better then the first one. Did you completly change the key frames on it? it looks so much more different. Great job! Here are some more screens:

im currently working on a music video for Wolfmother's "Joker & The Thief", i'm still in pre-production working on character designs and storyboards, but im feeling alot of influence from Adam, rather than my usual influence from homestarrunner.com... i dunno whether it's the song, my asperations or what i've got done, but this is turning out to be my most exciting project I've ever worked on |
