Wonderfull stuff com, but you know that already. ;)

Ive been doing stuff, scripting, story boards, and now test animations for my upcoming project, After watching avatar i got a few ideas for what could go into my first toon as far as weapons or means of action, like water bending. After about an hour i came up with this.

Water Magic Test

Want your guys opinion if this is something cool that you would want to see in a toon, and how i may add or subtract to the idea. (going further to other modes of combat, my toon will esentially be a adventure/drama and combat plays a big role in it)

Well anyway, here's what I'm working on today. The concept sketches for a game.

The arms are fucked up on the two archers, but thats ok, I want to use the mage anyway. The Guy I'm working with wanted to see him as an archer (trying to decide for the second character, magic ranged or arrows.)

Player 1 is a tribal kid, this is player 2 the mage (yes some of you may know when I was showing test few months ago, well thats been scraped and redrawn about 3 times. This is the final version of the game)

Here I s a close up of the mage (Blurred because it was just enlarged, not redrawn)

No prob :D i dont mind, added you as well.

What im really worried with is doing fire, doing water is much more different becuase flows more like a fish and is very elegant, more like using the water as a psuedopod than just summoning a wave.

The fire is strange becuase ive never really just liked for characters to jet flame out of no where, each element being used should be like a sculpter sculpting, on super fast foreward.

So im pretty clueless for fire :yfok:

umm...right....every wonder if someone took you seriously when you said "eat your heart out?" (except he's just supposed to be ripping it out....not eating it)
nearing completion...gotta finish up his left foot...and a few things on the upper body/heart-chest region, do clean up around the edges, and throw on his shorts (last thing I'm gonna do)
This is the first complete body I've made and I really like how I got the legs to look....
C&C por favor!
:D

EDIT: oh and add a background (you think it should be dark or light bg??)

Ive noticed lots of artists doesent post their 100% resolution pics, but only scaled down version with some closeup shots.

Thought I just bring it to Cafepress.com and make some different poster prints of it when im done. Im definatly gonna get one poster myself, becasue my printer is corrupt anyway=). That "shop" button on my homepage needs to have a reason to be there^^

So if any of you need the full resolution printed out, you need to pay for it :gasp: :gasp: :gasp:

I will post some big wallpaper resolutions for free though :gasp: :gasp: :gasp:

Ide definatly love a print of that.

And ide definatly like to know how you DID that. But so far as the size, that has to be a 7,000 by like 12,000 pixel image your manipulating. How do you keep your computer from frying? Whenever i work on a image at the 2,000 x 2,000 mark my computer lags.

Since im running a 2.0 x64 processor and 2 gigs of ram as well as a radeon 6600 gt i shouldnt have a problem, im starting to wonder if loading the longhorn/greenhorn (whatever the windows 64 OS is) would help my lag problems in windows.

I started doing the rough colouring and shading in 1200 pixels wide resolution.
Then I scaled it to 5000 pixels wide, where I brushed over the picture with more details.

I only have one single processor and 1.5 GB ram, but it works fine since im now only painting on small portions of the image. I would realy have trouble starting everything from scratch in that resolution, becasue then I would need a realy big brush. But yeah, the computer use almost 100% of the 1.5 Gb RAM. So its realy on the limit

Damn straight.

Good for you, Comlock. It's always tough to make that decision, but your work is more than just your time. It is a culmination of all your artistic developments up till this point in your life. You deserve remuneration for your efforts and your poster idea is an excellent answer.

Like the character design Tordeck! I'd make the cape a little more wrinkly and folded, but then again, that'd make it difficult to animate. I'd say the bow needs a little more curve in it. They usually have more curve and space between the string and wood. Grab some reference photos off Google Images or something. As for the character's anatomy, I have no idea, it looks good to me, but I bet Humbleego, Rubbers, Ang, Communist, or Kib will see and give a better critique now that I have brought attention to it. :D

Thanks Psy, I'd given up all hope of somone critting it.

So we decided to go with the mage character and not the range, its for a game.

Hey guys. Here's something I'm working on for art class. The color actually looks better in real life, so try not to pay any attention to it. It's almost finished, but not quite. I just started using watercolors, and I like it so far. Any crits/comments are welcome!

nice sept youv changed angles on the steps if you have the top horizontal keep them all horizontal the first step and half of the other two is slightly out...problem with water colours is you cant paint over it they have a nice effect though for me it's yay acrylics more forgiving but im a sketcher mainly...water color has a nice look to it...other than the step everything looks really cool. I like how you've combined ink and paint very cool :D

yeah, i know, but the stairs and the bookcase aren't finished, so it'll look fine once it's done (well, hopefully..). I think you're probably right about the angles, pillow. My art teacher said they were fine, but I think I might try to tweak them a little. ;)
