Really nice Mathulus. The background isn't too great though. It's very repetitive.

Hey all. I just joined this forum, so I thought I'd post a bit of what im workin on right now.

These are a few shot of the opening scene of my forthcoming cartoon "the donut shop". Here's the premise:

"Two unlikely twentysomethings, Connor and Elijah, happen upon a family donut business, but only to have a corporate donut franchise, Gladiator Donuts, move just two shops down in hopes of stealing their business. The co-owners, and a colorful cast of shop regulars vow to run the chain out of town, by any means nessisary. Coming this Winter, stick it to the man with The Donut Shop."

Anyways, I'll keep you guys up to date as it comes along, I would love any constructive critisism! Thanks!

Hey Jamilack, Welcome to the forums!

Nice backgrounds you've got there, the choice in colour is really sophisticated and easy on the eyes. I'd be interested in seeing what the main characters look like.

Tim: The album art is looking quite good so far. One suggestion I'd make is maybe keep some of the detail of the bandmembers in rather than making it black. I think the blur is a bit too strong at the moment too. I'm not saying you have to do these things, but it may be worth giving them a go. :bitey:

Thank you both very much! I am trying to keep a very low saturation pallette for the backgrounds.. maybe up it a little on the actual characters. I'll post some character stuff here in a bit! Thanks!

Here's a picture that i'm making for an Enlgish assignment (we were supposed to draw a picture, but i figured a digital painting would be close enough); it's my first ever digital painting, and I'm not disappointed with it (not quite yet), but it's certainly noting i'm pleased with.

Here's a larger version

I wanted to do a nicer looking shoreline and then a shorline across the lake as well, but i just got lazy and made it a sea of gay blue brushstrokes. I'd like to make it presentable, but I simply don't have a lot of time to do it with much detail, so any suggestions for that part would be nice (or on the guy's--Ethan Frome's--hair style.

one problem that i imediatly notice is that the angle of the lake looks different than the angle of the bench/people. a simple way to fix that would be to make a horizon on the lake with trees or mountains or sunset ect. trying to make reflections would also help it look like water. another thing you can do to help it look right would be waves but since im not confident in my own wave techniques i wont give any advice about those except, stay away from them unless you know what your doing or unless your just doing practice drawings. as it is now it loooks like the sky. my first thought was "why are these people just sitting on a bench in the middle of the desert?"

why drawings in english class? that seems a bit weird

Yeah, i feared that I would have to add in some sort of background across the lake, but I guess there's not logical way around it.... :(

It's for part of a presentation for English class; I just managed to alter the project a little bit to make it fit my desires. B)

Pretty good meaning to it.
He kisses her and she grabs his hand and he thinks he has angered her. So he turns away. She pulls him back and kisses him back. He crys in joy knowing that he is loved back. Good work on the moral, John.

Yea Pasha right on the money! :) Its like you know behind the scenes of my life or something.

You know the only two things I enjoy illustarting or just love drawing is sadness and love as well joy. Its not everyday you feel all three at once and so I make it up by drawing it. Thus why there is this.
