well, the chair is so far away from the console that it serves no purpose at all. theres not enough chairs. maybe there should be controlls on the armrests & the chairs should swivel. are people living on this spacecraft or just working there? if they are living on it i suspect they would have home-like touches which are overlooked in practically all sci-fi things. maybe pictures of the families of the crew, possibly a rug, a beanbag-chair, even a garbage can, a cooler, & a microwave or at least the futuristic high tech equivalents of those things. just try imagining what you would want if you were spending all day in that room

Thanks for the suggestions. The Chair in the Middle of the room is the Captains chair it's not for the console. I havent got around to adding the other chairs yet.

Yes they are living on the ship and I like your suggestions. A garbage can, cooler and Microwave etc would add to the cartoonyness (is that a word) and make it look less formal.

Thanks sneaky robot :D

:EDIT:

oh and I was planning to have swivley chairs for the people at the consoles anyway. I could squeeze a few laughs out of that

Ok so i've been developing this animated series. It's a Sci Fi comedy sorta thing. I've been drawing the Bridge (or command centre, whatever you wanna call it) of the Space ship. Mainly Just to develop a colour scheme and a look. At the moment i'm not completely happy with it. It seems quite bare.

Any suggestions on making it look good will be appreciated :D

Hey Fuzzy, I really loved your poster.  It's very faux 3D and looks brilliant.  Good use of monochrome.  My only complaint is that everything is blue and 3Dish except for the speech bubbles.  If you can make those fit, I vote this piece for Total Awesome.

Hurrah! :D

Salter try adding some more curved lines all the straight lines will help contrast it more and it should hopefully look less bare. V cool though! cant wait to see the animating

Invert the gradient so the dark part is in the foreground.
It's also very boxy atm. Try lowering some parts in the floor and get some slanted edges here and there.

Just a practice piece, I still need to paint in the smaller cast shadows so it doesn't look so flat. Wish I would've pushed the composition a little more in the beginning. :yfok:

Left arm is a little stiff, and his forearm is oddly shaped.
He has no neck, but I like him.
