In the first one, the splash is ok, but the ripple becomes round, which doesnt look right compared to the splash |

1) agree with espen....that's a funny Humble hump! 2) I think it might be better if you sharpened everything up & defined it more....overall it looks blurry & "out of focus." Still looking good though, I like the style of the trees & the multiple levels of land. I'm just beginning to paint in Photoshop & it's harder than I'd imagined it would be: ![]() This is the first thing I'm trying to paint in PS, & I'm having some troubles...I've blocked in the sky & ground, for the most part, as well my little guy in the corner, but I'm having trouble blending the whole mess. Oh and I'm terrified of starting on those clouds too. Any advice? |

*WARNING FOLLOWING REPLY MAY SOUND HARSHER THAN INTENTED* My advice is to not try something quite so ambitious for your first atttempt. Learn the program first (Photoshop is not as easy as the pros make it look). Don't get me wrong, your art looks good. But is this really the project you want to experiment on? Wouldn't you rather learn the nuances of the program creating simpler images? I agree that the clouds are scary, I could easily spend an entire day working on them and still only have a portion done. As far as blending, I like to create a duplicate layer first (create new layer, hold "atl" and then merge visible, this will merge all visible layers onto a new one while keeping your original layers). Then I add a Guasian Blur to the new layer (experiment to see what looks best). The last step I take is to lower the opacity of the new layer thus blending all layers into one. It's getting late so I hope that was easy to understand. If not I would be more than happy to clarify it for you. |

Hey RWS, I like your movie, can't wait till you're done with it. I only found a few things that seemed a bit strange in the movie. 1.) I'm not sure if the music (the hard electric guitar/rock) fits the type of movie. Obviously I don't know the plot, so technically I can't tell, but the music just didn't work for me. These two characters seem sneaky, or stealthy or something. Like I completely understand if you're doing the music yourself and you/your co-workers only play the electric guitar, but otherwise, I'd change the soudtrack to something better suited for this movie. 2.) In the beginning of the movie, I noticed that the position of the moon changes from perspective of the main character. At first, the moon is behind him, and to his left as he does his first walk cycle. (Before seeing the town) However, when he sees the town: ![]() The moon is to his, and the viewers, right-hand side. Then, when he walks through the town, the moon goes back to being on his left: (Behind him again) ![]() I thought at first that the camera had spun around him, but there are buildings across the street from where he's walking, thus showing that he's kept going the same way, but the location of the moon has changed. That's all I've found, and now I'm gonna head off to bed, but if you have any comments, I'll read in the morning. -Zigity |

I did actually know that, and i am very skeptical about it myself... it's just this is an animation for school, and the due date is looming ever so nearer, and i really can't be bogged down with detail just now... i like the project, so i will be revamping it near the end of the year after exams, so redo graphics, smooth out the animation etc. As for the music, the start (in terms of story) is very slow... and yea, i tend to agree that the music doesn't fit it.. however, later on there's going to be a lot more action and fast-paced animation, that fits in quite well with it. I'm really enjoying working on this project, and the preproduction really helped me alot, because i figured out exactly what i wanted out of it, and already im being rewarded when im working on it... so im going to be really excited when im done, and my animation skills would greatly been enhanced, if they aren't already |

'tis not bad, not bad. Only one thing that bothered me as a pianist.. The piano had no black keys!
Shame on you. I would hate it if I had to play only in the key of C... (j/k)Don't know what the preproduction means but if you've been making this movie for 6 months.. I guess you just take your time. There's not much to it in the film. But do keep on going and show us further progress when you have it. I look forward to seeing what this becomes Oh and Espen. That looks killer. I liked the darkness in the first one but the last is cool. |

it's mostly used for script, storyboarding... but in professional practise, you got other stuff like Synopsis, Contention, Audience etc... and i really explored it in depth to understand what kind of styles id be using, colours, themes etc |
