I'm sort-of working on a long-term project I started beginning of the school year. Its a relatively large mural in the art room. I've taken an extended haitus from it to complete my art school admissions portfolio and finish all required projects in the quarter.

The (already modified) plan
The case so far

Haha, Max, have you ever used Pivot for stick figure animations?

There are so many restrictions (even with the new edition), its really annoying... but its an alright program to do little short SIMPLE SIMPLE things with a mouse (If you don't have a tablet, that is; which I don't :( ).

True. I do as well (My icon was colored by mouse). I usually don't do much animation though, I'd like to do more.

Havent posted anything here since i joined, but here goes.

this is the start of a long time flash project ive had going, ive already got all the voice acting, storyboarded and so on done, now its just producing. here is the wip for the first scene.

(the file is big because i haven't optimized or reduced picture res)
the images were drawn in opencanvas 4. damn ive got a long way to finish this.

oh and the stars are a small bit of action script written by a friend, they randomly generate and are under 4 kb.

enjoy

EDIT: sorry its so big in dimensions on photobucket.

Beautiful work on the ship and world, muzzoid.

That planet really looks like it's revolving slowly at first glance... but upon closer examination, you can see that x-axis tween.

Do you have any other show-worthy scenes? Any chance of us getting some plot previews? :bing:

not as of yet, but i'm working on it hard. glad you like it so much.

um plot, well renegade trade ship with hero on board, is being hunted down by government ships, huge battle ensured......... ill reveal a bit more later.(it almost hurts to simplify it that much)

shame my character animation skills aren't up to scratch.

Looks slick.

Tough keep in mind that objects will appear to move slower as they get further away. The incomming ship looks like it's going allot faster in the distance.

It looks like a good start, i would put more contrast into it, pull out the leaves from the red, add some alternating color for variety, it can get boring staring at maroon all day!

Scarrabee-

Brilliant mate, i couldn't say i could do the same thing, i have a hard time with popsickle sticks. You should get into 3dsmax or maya, and render these in 3d!

Part painting, part icon of shame for how I feel the need for refining one part of the painting without even touching other parts.

Anyway comments or criticism on it, especially the colours, would be very very very very very very very appreciated. I need the comments now more than ever.

Crits eh, well the only thing i can see is that the blue seems to clash with the colours on the face, maybe a dark marone would be better. Another thing that I'm sure you will come back and fix is that there is no highlights as of yet on the jacket.

I cant really crit anything else because of the stylized nature of the drawing, but really good job other than that.
