I could REALLY use some feedback. I'm a beginner of digital painting so I don't really know what I'm doing. I kind of like the way this is coming out so far, but it's taking SO long!!! What's your guys's method for painting so darn fast?

i didn't know whether this should go in this or the animation thread, but since its a work in progress, i decided here would be fine
this is a game me and my bro are working on, neither of us have ever done actionscripting, and so last night we took a first peek at it, and came up with this.
he did most of the code and i did all the animating.

use w, a, s, and d to move him...

the jumping is kinda screwy cause there are some things we need to add to the script, but we're not that far yet :3

Boundless thats looking really good!.
Narubi, looks good, but there is no shading yet, you need to move away from flat toned and shade properly ;D.

Here is what im currently working on, its an intro to a flash movie that is to parody propaganda as a whole.

tell me what you think :).

I probably should have a preloaded on this.....

Latest school work linked below. This is a preproduction presentation of designs and story that will be used for my final animation project.

http://www.adastrumguild.com/Dreamship/Week6

Because of time considerations I am trying to keep everything as simple as I can while still telling my story and allowing for some good animation. There are a couple of extra scenes I may insert if things go really smoothly (knock on wood).

Comment and critique welcome. Thanks for looking at my stuff!

Next up: audio and animatic.

Jeff,

That looks like a steady project you've got going--- I like the relation to The Twilight Zone. Will you have a zany/spook soundtrack as well?

Well done on the complete script! It is quite simple and short, though seeing as it has an air of parody, I think you have the opportunity to draw out the interaction between Eddie and the aliens a little more. Think of ridiculous outcomes. For example, it might be funny if the they (the aliens) are beginning some exhaustive examination process, but then accidentally bump the 'eject' button, thus losing their specimen (Eddie).

You're doing a great job--- keep hammering this thing until it glows! :bing:

-----------------------------------

Combined,

Metroid rocks-- and your colors are looking good!

But be careful about your workflow, man--- don't put too much detail and on the head/shoulders before you block in the rest of the form! Your best results will come when the bring the painting up in detail as a whole. ;)

hehe yeah thnx alot for that :P I will try doing that but I dont mind working the way I am right now. seeing how the details look great (for my doing :P) that motivates me for doing the other parts of the drawing :P

wittyhobos, crow looks awesome! I really like the flowing ribbon-like projections.

I've finally decided (after half a year without working) that it's time to start one of the many flash ideas that I've had kicking around in my head for so long. This one is about a teacher who stumbles upon a bit of surprise in his classroom, with hilarious results!

So, before I go any farther, how could I make this model better?

Nooo!!! I was working on the intro for a new flash I'll be starting when my power went out! NOOO!!! I'm moving also, so I won't be in the new place for about a week.. so that's a week with NO POWAA.. thank god for libraries tho

anyway.. yeah , im wanting to start a new flash series thatll be 6 eps only , called Science:For The Win. Basically its about this guy who he, and his race, are imprisoned by an evil space group. He hasnt seen his people since birth, and his slavejob is to go on various missions ( chasing enemies of the evil group, teaching ape-men to be more modern, blowing up planets )

I suggest not having the marks on the hair, makes it look solid and shiny. Maybe add a feature that sets him out too like facial hair, a mole or something. Continue to keep him simple though since you have to animated him and now show us some full body eye candy so we can get a feel for the whole of him :)

What you've got looks brilliant Gobi can't wait to see more

Awesome, thanks for the tips, Pillow. I suppose I was just a bit too generic with the face; I was so Mii inspired that I neglected real details. I'll try to apply some of your suggestions and post the results later if I get the chance. I'm just a little busy preparing for a vacation in the Sierra Nevada mountain range area next week. I like to have my assets in order before I leave like this, but I hope to have time for a little drawing before I leave!

I agree with what Pillow said, but also the glasses don't really 'connect' up to the ears. I wear glasses and I know they don't stay on without those bits...

I know where you're coming from, but in this drawing I was none too concerned with realism and accuracy in the drawing. :P
