take the last letter of the word and add the next letter in the scale to the end of the word. if the word ends in 'r', then adding 'm' to the end makes it plural. drl = person drlt = people mmt = bone mmtd = bones |

Hey Adam... I like your idea and all. But that really cuts into any of the possibilities for 4- letter words. In some languages, such as chinese, korean, and japanese, they don't pluralize. That is, they say 1 dog and 2 dog. same word for both. I was wondering if we could do the same with Sarus and just forget about plurals. This way 4 letter words would be completly open for anything. |

Yeah, once numbers get worked out we can simply say (two) (dog) or (three dog). Also, there could be a word that means "some" that could be used to make words plural of an indefinate number. That way we would just use 1 word instead of having to constrict just about all 4-syllable words. |

sorry, but I've been working on this for about 6 years now and I'm pretty happy with how plurals work. Plurals for 3-syllable words are 4-syllable words with 2 consecutive end syllables. It doesn't cut the possibilities much at all, considering that for every 3-syllable word, there is 7x 4-syllable words. Just one of those have 2 consecutive end syllables. Getting confusing? ok here's an example. fsf = storm fsfs = storms 4 syllable words remaining, for other uses: fsfd fsfr fsfm fsff fsfl fsft so you see that for every 3 syllable word, adding a consecutive at the end only uses one of its 4-syllable children. The backwards consecutive (i.e. fsfm) is reserved for something else, but you'll find that out later when I've completed the 4-syllable dictionary. |

Alright Mr mistery... any idea when the 4-syl dictionary will be done? Further, is there gonna be a need for a 5-sylable one? And hopefully not a 6th as well. Keep us poster, ok? It'll be hard using that plurals thing and think that other 4 letter words will have meanings, but i won't argue with 6 years. Besides, I don't like the way french works either. |

Doing plurals that way sounds a bit odd to me too, but I'm not arguing with Adam, it's his language! Besides, real languages always have features that don't seem logical. I'm looking forward to the 4-syllable dictionary section too! |

Just out of curiosity, what is it about French pluralization that you don't like? Je voudrais savoir. |

Not french pluralization. Just the langauge itself.
It's tough, but it's fun too. No hard feelings against it.

Well yeah, but French is as difficult as any language really. Take English for example, how many weird definitions of words do we have? If anything, French makes slightly more sense!! But I get what you're saying. |
