Sarus Names 1. First, remove all vowels. 2. Second, use the below chart to change all letters to the correct form. B=D C=R D=D F=F G=M H=F J=S K=L L=L M=M N=T P=D Q=R R=R S=S T=T V=M W=S X=L Z=T Example: Danielle=Dnll=Dtll, seperate it and it becomes Dtl l which means Baby the(reverse the words and u get The Baby) |

Why are thoes the equivalent letters? B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Z could all be anything. Well, D, F, L, M, R, S, and T are pretty set. But that leaves 13 letters... So why that system? |

Because the only letters in Sarus are those letters, and none of them are vowels. As for not just changing the vowels along with it, the removing vowels was the first thing that came to mind. |

Hmm, well its an interesting way to get a name in Sarus, but like what Laroon said, theirs isn't really a reason why those letters are equivilent to sarus letters. |

hmm.. I haven't been too sure about this naming thing. Just want everyone to know that while I think it's an inventive way to come up with names, don't take it as official Sarus. A vietnamese person named Ping Van Ng may or may not choose to anglicise his name to Geoffrey.. and with Sarus I think names are unimportant to the language. Whether or not you choose a Sarus name is up to you, but rather than leave it up to the randomness of the method in this thread, I recommend choosing a few words for yourself that describe you. To give an idea of how random the method is, Eilavamp, the name ttl literally means 'ugly'. This luck-of-the-draw is a very unsatisfying naming method, I think you'll agree. And not a very nice welcome for your first post for names in Sarus I'm happy to say: rd mfm m Adam (my name is Adam) preserving the name itself intact. However TheEYE named me earlier this year: Raefyl Lyf La Sulaed (father of the forest) Lots of other people here have their Sarus names (given to them by me, back when I had time) in their sigs, or avatars. |

actually, I think thats quite funny. it kind of reminds me of bitey, because hes so quick but bad things always happen to him. I feel ironically connected to bitey now!
or not. but anyway, i still think the language is cool.
 I always use Eila as my name anyway, so its not much of a big deal. |

Well, I was happy with the name I got from this.
St Mrl s Trm tt = Thanks Rise if Wake (+ passive participle, result perhaps "woken"?) => Thanks Ifrise Woken EDIT: added my second name there. As you can see, I switched it a little for the final name... It's still good, eh?

sorry, but theres already a way to name people in sarus. you take three words describing them (for me, make you insane), translate it into sarus, and stick in some vowels to make it sound cool. |
