The SHE-Wolf of the Crop-Circles
Lol, no problem Rick. :D

Part 16

Seffanee was very quiet and docile during the next few days, the drug Bitey had procured from Lemonee Wee – though it helped – was a shock on the she-wolf’s system and the wolf was put off balance for the next few days. Moving around too quickly made her nauseous and she slept for hours. But she was calmer.

Some of the creatures of Brackenwood thought that maybe the drug had made the wolf as weak and soft as a pup but a savage growl and a snap of cruel fangs convinced them otherwise. The violence and urge of supremacy was still there but now Seffanee was in control on how it was used and where – or towards whom – it was directed. But even that didn’t stop some people…

Seffanee lay on a slope of lush grass in the sunshine, she felt warm, relaxed and comfortable. Bitey was further down the slope, in the river at the bottom. The she-wolf let out a contented sigh and rolled onto her side.

Suddenly she picked up her head, senses alert. One sleek ear flicked and the wolf’s bright, golden eyes flashed as she saw a shadow flit through the trees on the opposite bank. Seffanee trotted down the slope to the river. Bitey looked up when the she-wolf growled quietly at him. Seffanee stared intently at the opposite bank, Bitey glanced at her, then followed her gaze.

He froze. And stared, mouth open. Seffanee’s hackles rose and she growled, deep from her ribs. A creature had stepped from the cover of the trees. A creature that Seffanee immediately knew two things, first she knew what it was and second that under no circumstances did she trust it. It was female and vaguely human but more ethereal, more…floaty…Seffanee was not fooled. This creature was no human.

She’d seen them before, in her own world and she’d heard the stories that went with them. They were forest spirits, who seduced human man and lead them into the wilds. They never came back…

And now this one seemed to be weaving it’s spell on Bitey. Seffanee snarled, the creature laughed and to the wolf’s horror it seemed the spell was working on him, his eyes were dazed in a dreamy expression. He began walking towards the river, and the nymph.

The she-wolf sprang forward and tried to push him back, rising on her back legs and using her head and paws, pushing against Bitey’s chest, trying to stop him but Bitey kept right on as if she didn’t exist. The wolf scrabbled with her hindlegs to find purchase but to no avail. Even so the she-wolf refused to give up. She couldn’t deter Bitey, so she would have to get the source instead. Seffanee turned her blazing eyes on the nymph. She growled. The nymph turned flashing eyes of an indefinable colour on the wolf. Her long hair blew in a non-existent breeze and she laughed at the wolf with a lovely, crystal bell laugh, even though her eyes were lit with a furious light.

Seffanee made to charge at her but the nymph raised her hand and the wolf felt herself thrown back. She hit one of the white boulders in the glade, the impact making a dull crunch. The last thing the she-wolf saw was the nymph, laughing coyly and leading Bitey into the woods. Seffanee’s vision swam and then became black and the wolf knew no more.

XX Sometime later XX

Seffanee groggily opened her eyes and got drunkenly to her feet. She shook her muzzle, trying to clear the fuzziness in her mind.

What was I doing again?

But then the memories came flooding back. Bitey, the nymph creature. The wolf snarled and took off, jumping the stream and plunging into the wood, racing to find Bitey.

Eventually she cleared the trees and came to a secluded glade, no different from any other in Brackenwood, except for the waterfall that thundered into its pool a little way away and the strange hump next to the back. Seffanee cocked her head. Something, was here, something important.

Just then she heard coy laughter again and her hackles rose. She saw the nymph sitting on a rock by the waterfall pool.

“Save him if you can.” She giggled, “But time is running thin!” The wolf moved to attack but the nymph was too quick, and with a shriek of cruel laughter she dived into the pool and disappeared. Her words made Seffanee balk as she thought of them, time was running out for Bitey. But where was he!?

The she-wolf cast around desperately and whined. The hump in the turf caught her attention and she approached it warily and scented cautiously. The smell of young grass washed over her muzzle, and deeper; mud and damp earth, but deeper then that was…

The wolf’s eyes grew wide with horror and with an anguished yelp she fell upon the lump and began scraping at it furiously, desperately digging, scoring huge furrows in the soil. Soon her entire front half was caked in mud and blades of grass and still she dug. Stones cut into her paws and filth entered the wounds by Seffanee did not stop until she had dug up the very roots of the grass and found beneath her paws, a completely different texture. It was like the sack that cubs were born in. Seffanee attacked the rubbery membrane with her jaws and not long after a very soggy, muddy Bitey was disgorged. The she-wolf whimpered and nudged him with her nose. Bitey’s body shuddered and then he coughed and gasped in a lungful of air. He shook and seemed disorientated, just like a newborn. Seffanee dropped down beside him and licked him clean as he pressed his cold body to her warm fur.

Lobo you really need to use something that you know more about. the yuyu are not high up on that list and as far as the stories plot, i think its great, stop by my stories sometime. Also you really need to include smaller chapter sizes, so i can have time to read it all! But from what ive seen its a good plot, setting, and a better time for mystery.

Jdave, alrighty, alrighty, here it is. :D I finally beat my block! Huzzah!
Thanks tahuna! And I’m glad you like the story. I enjoy writing…when I haven’t got block that is…
ColdHart, lol, you can celebrate now, tis back with another chapter. :D

And after waiting for next to forever (thank you for your patience) I am proud to present…The next chapter! TA-DA!

Part 17

Seffanee wanted to move, it was getting dark, her hackles were prickling and making her wary and uncomfortable. There was still danger here and the wolf wouldn’t be able to leave the cursed glade fast enough.

Bitey was no longer cold and shivering and the she-wolf had cleaned him up now, and now that he was stronger Seffanee was eager to get away from this place. She nudged him with her nose, gently but firmly. Bitey moaned and buried his face into her furry hide. Seffanee growled and stood.

You have to get up.

He tried. He really did, but the strength seemed to have gone out of his legs and he slid back down onto the grass, his limbs wobbling. Seffanee growled in frustration. She picked him up by the scruff of the neck, like she would an unruly pup and shook him gently. Bitey groaned. But he locked his legs and clenched one fist into Seffanee’s grey fur, using her to help him stand.

Slowly the mismatched duo crept from the glade, entering the forest that had become darker since night was falling. The warm, damp small of lush green vegetation pervaded Seffanee’s nose, calming her slightly with its menthol scent. She dropped her muzzle to the earth and sniffed it, sifting through the fat, rich smells for something familiar that would led her back to Bitey’s tree.

XX Some time later XX

Eventually the wolf and her companion broke out of the forest cover and found themselves in a reassuringly familiar glade, lit silver by the risen moon. Exhausted Bitey and the she-wolf stumbled toward it and crawled into its hollow trunk. They had hardly gotten onto Bitey’s sleeping floor when Seffanee slid down onto her belly and went to sleep. Bitey curled up next to the wolf and slipped gently into his own colourful dreams.

XX Meanwhile on the Shadow Plain XX

You know what to do. The lower ranking Yu-Yu bowed before its superior and then faded from view.

It materialised in a dark forest. It was night here, and clouds overshadowed the sky. Sliding between the deeps shades the Yu-Yu made it’s way through the forest. Eventually it came upon what it sort.

A wolf pack, watchful in the night, their eyes gleaming. They seemed to sense the Yu-Yu and their hackles raised as they growled. The Yu-Yu retreated slightly, if they howled then he’d be thrown back into his own dark realm, his mission incomplete.

For the next few days the wolf pack was on edge. They had lost their strongest beta female and the pack mourned her loss. Though they could find no trace of her, the only thing that they thought could happened was that she had been killed by the two-legs while drawing the danger away from the new cubs. And now there was a presence that tailed the pack like a bad dream. They could all sense it and all of them were wary and growled when they felt it coming too close. It was something they didn’t understand, and therefore something not to be trusted.

But it was not for them that the Yu-Yu had come…

Author’s Note
Sorry this took so long. And I’m sorry it’s so short and not as up to the unusual standard, I’m still being hounded by the WB, but I’ve got a trickle of ideas coming. Thanks to some of my readers. :D You know who you are and I love you for giving me inspiration. :D :D :D

LOL! Thanks guys! :D I feel so loved. :D

ColdHart, nice dance moves buddy. And I try and keep to what we know about Brackenwood as much as possible. :D

Sorry fer the wait Turnip, I serious WB but I manage to drag this out, and I'm glad you liked it, I was kinda worried it wouldn't be up to scratch.

Hullo medved! :D No, to bring Seffanee over to Brackenwood took a lot of energy for a whole group of Yu-Yu's, bringing a whole pack would be near impossbile, the Yu-Yu's haven't gotten that powerful...yet... So no, this single Yu-Yu is just observing, seeing if he can find a wolf weakness that can be used against Seffanee. :D

And two more comments, and we've reached 100 post on this thread! Huzzah! B)
