when lobo put this story up, it went to about two pages and died... now its up to six pages, but the only pages that have parts that I read, when it was 2 pages, are in the last two pages of the story!!!

did someone change this, i deff. remember it being only around 2 pages, my post is even on a page that i dont recall existed

but more on track, the parts i dont remember being there, and the whole story for that matter, ...

The SHE-Wolf of the Crop-Circles
*drags sorry hide from the pit from whence I’ve been working my sorry behind in* I’m so sorry guys! Ack! So many months of silence. *slaps forehead* Anyway, reasons being, have been finishing my college course (got ma Science Diploma btw) and then my computer crashed, loads of stuff I’d written got lost, the internet died and Writer’s Block, my dreaded arch nemesis has decided to come and live with me…blood from a stone man…urg…but NO! This fic is not dead! I won’t let it die dammit! Ahem…sorry, anyway, to the next chapter!

P.S. *hugs everyone that posted in the thread* Man I love you guys, thanks for waitin’ for me…

Part 18

He was trapped, he couldn’t move. The horribly slimy, pliant membrane crept up his legs and did not yield however much he fought. It dragged him down and he thrashed in terror as the horror of what was happening to him sank in, the turf began to move, covering him with horrible, jerky movements as it crawled over him, trying to smother him… Then darkness, suffocating, walls pressing in, couldn’t, breathe…

Bitey woke with a jolt and terrified yelp. The yelp woke Seffanee, who was only lightly sleeping. She made a low, comforting sound as Bitey whimpered and buried his head into her stomach, as deep as he could. Seffanee smelt his fear and licked his face soothingly. When he had calmed and drifted off to sleep again, the she wolf watched over him, one ear flicking every now and again. They were back in Bitey’s tree now; warm, comfortable and most importantly, safe.

Seffanee took a deep breath of the scent around them and allowed the smell of the sharp, cold nighttime air wash over her sensitive nose. Nothing that smelt untoward was anywhere near the tree and the wolf allowed herself to relax marginally.

Bitey shifted beside her and made a soft whimpering sound, like a puppy in distress. Seffanee made a soothing sound and licked him gently between his horns. He woke with a little jerk and looked around himself quickly before he looked up at the she-wolf, she nuzzled him reassuringly. Bitey made a soft sighing sound and tucked her head under the wolf’s chin.

“Nice Seffanee…” he mumbled before his eyes drooped and he went to sleep again. Seffanee growled deeply, trying to make him feel safe as she nuzzled him gently, determined to keep the dreams away…

XX The next morning, somewhere in Brackenwood XX

The only wolf in Brackenwood slipped through the trees like a grey wraith, a silver flash in the patches of sunlight slanting thickly through the trees, a dark shade in the shadows cast by them. Her passing was silent and unmarked, she had become as much part of this place as the native creatures and now this felt like her home. She felt at peace here.

She paused for a moment as she passed a clearer space and raised her muzzle, watching the little golden motes floating in the beams of sunlight. She scent the air. Everything felt clean and fresh, pure and natural, not even the deepest parts of her old pack’s territory had been completely free of the humanity surrounding them. Here, it was different. Here, it was untouched.

The she-wolf moved on. She had a hunt to conduct, Bitey wouldn’t leave the tree, and at first had not wanted her to go either. He’d clung to her, clenching his fists her in fur, not wanting to be left, not wanting to be alone. But Seffanee had been insistent, they were hungry, they had to hunt, they needed meat. So Seffanee was determined to find game, bring it down as soon as possible and take it back. Bitey had been through enough already.

Little did she know, that elsewhere, enemies were conspiring, and a plan had been set in motion…

XX Meanwhile, in the Shadow Realm XX

After spending several days with the wolf pack in their own world, the scouting Yu-Yu left that world of light, and now returned to that dark place between waking and sleeping, his mission complete. He had what he had come for and as soon as he arrived back in the darkness he took what he had learnt to his leaders.

The wolf had learnt a way to repel them, it was time to take the next step, and use their growing power to stage their first retaliation against the wolf’s attack.

Deep in Brackenwood, where the trees grew thick and dense, and the sunlight hardly reached, two pairs of eyes blinked into existence. Eyes that burned with a kind of demonic fire. Two large things shifted in the darkness, their movements causing the dead leaves that carpeted the floor to rustle. Not breath smoked in the cold, sunless darkness. There was a deep growl, and the shadow nightmares of the Yu-Yu’s, went forth to hunt down their prey…

Elsewhere, in another part of Brackenwood, Seffanee roamed on her own hunt, unaware, and unprepared for the danger…

Woo! I actually have an idea for the plot now! Yay! Expect fragments to be faster and more structured and actually have plot! I’m onna roll! Woo again! And thanks for the comments you guys. I so wuve you all! :D

Part 19

Seffanee dropped her nose to the earth and sifted through the many scents that soaked it. She stood at the edge of one of the huge pastures of Brackenwood, her tail twitching slightly in her frustration and confusion. Not a single fresh track of game beasts. Where was everything!? Not even a fatsack had crossed her path, not even a Bigfoot! She hadn’t even seen another creature since she’d set out this morning, and it was mid afternoon now. She was confused and she didn’t like it.

The she-wolf, once she was sure she couldn’t pick up a trail here, moved off again, her pace the wolf lope that her kind was known for. She wove her way through the trees, not really wanting to go out into the open until it was the very last resort.

As twilight fell, Seffanee could only conclude that today would be one of those days. There had been not a single opportunity to hunt and now, weary and frustrated, her belly empty and letting her know about it, she gave up and started heading back.

And that was when it happened.

Abruptly and with no obvious reason, every single hair on the she-wolf’s back, rose, standing up straight. Seffanee stopped dead. One ear flicked, her nose took in deep breaths of air, smelling, questing, questioning. Her yellow wolf eyes flashed green in the shifting light.

It grew darker. And something moved.

The wolf growled, a low, deep growl that came right from the pit of her belly. Her muzzle wrinkled in the fierce snarl, warning off anyone – or anything – that would bother her.

She heard the sound of huge things moving in the darkness beyond her vision. There was answering growl… Cold fear slid down the wolf’s spine. Something about that growl scared her. Whatever it was, she had never encountered it before…something about it, was wrong…unnatural…dark…

Evil.

Seffanee backed away. The great, evil thing ahead, moved closer, the she-wolf’s head lowered and she snarled again, but now the sound was fearful, her tail quivered and curled between her hind legs as she backed away further. She now found herself in one of the meadows that stretched across the small planet that was Brackenwood. The moon light drenched her back in silver with its luminescence, her pupils contracted as she focused on the dark fringe of the trees, the portal to that darker world, where something terrifying lurked.

And when it broke the trees and came into view, Seffanee’s ears pressed flat against her skull, her tail pressed to her belly and a terrified scream came from deep down in the she-wolf as she cowered in the most intense terror and horror.

The beast was huge, and dark as the blackest shadows, twin smouldering coals were its eyes, pupil-less, filled with fire, and it towered high above her, more dangerous and more terrifying then the animal its form imitated could ever be.

There, standing at the very mouth of the darkness, was a bear…made entirely of shadow magic…
