!! I was trying to find a good die hard picture to use! I was thinking about having john mclane and the cat side by side, jumping from an explosion, or something like that. The explosion i used is just some random picture i found online that looked like it would work well. |

i dont think that was too big? looked aight to me. but neway.. it has a a nice look to the face and i dunno the eyes looke a bit out of palce they look like they been cut out and glued on there, maybe less highlights around the eyes, and cut and paste the eyes better. but besides that i like it, the face looks artistic. oh yeh but i dont like the msword text job lol.

This one is a charcoal reduction (where you take vine charcoal and cover the whole sheet of paper stuff with it...then use only an eraser, white charcoal stick and black charcoal stick)![]() this is chalk pastels, and black glue (the outlines are the black glue....and these aren't the real colours of the person if you didn't notice )![]() and lastly...this is pencil on paper... ![]() any crits?

Hehe, ooooo, cool Vilageidiot.I like em all.The effect on the pencil sketch of the paper surface is nice,i can't really see the detail on it,but the size it is it looks very real. All that would have polished that was if it was in colored pencil(i wish i was good at coloring
)It's nice to see someone else that does something finished in pencil once and a while.

![]() Possible logo for my flash movies? Let me know what you think. Love the frog-man. Seems a stoner wouldn't be in such deep thought. (And yes, I'm talking about the frog  ) |

Love the image, but I think your typography needs work. I'd try some different arrangements to see if you can get it to jive better. The font choice is fairly good, but you might try drawing the letters yourself to give it the gritty feel of your skull. Also, the arc of the text is larger than the skull, I'd bring it closer to the skull to help it intergrate with it more. Is "Smile" part of the name? Seems kinda slapped on? If it's a slogan type of thing, I'd work with the placement a bit more to balance it out. Also, I'm not crazy about that font for this piece. Just doesn't quite feel right. Great start though, I think it speaks well to your personality which it great! Edit: Just realised part of what's bothering me is the weight of the text next to the chunky logo, "Happy Doom!" seems to loose it's impact because of it. I think a bolder, chunkier lettering would work better. |

That's actually really helpful. I'm happy-ish with the logo, not so much with the text. And thanks for the clunky-font suggestion. I'll definetly try it out. I'll also try to draw the text myself. I have bad experiences with that, though. And yes, 'smile!' is more of a slogan. If I were to have it animated (as it's intended to be seen eventually), I would probably have it fade in later so that the seperation is clear. Otherwise, if it was static, I would probably omit that. And thanks for mentioning that it matches my personality, since that's what I was going for. I like the idea of having dark themes and evil sinister skull and cross bones, gothic style, but I'm the kind of guy who can't take a damn thing seriously. It makes sense for such an evil icon to be demented and crazy to me. Sort of a happy compromise between what is cool and what is me.
You're not alone.
