Hey fade, great drawing. I love the colors and the amount of detail you put into it. I think the wrinkles make it too busy though, especially considering the light reads kind of flat. Maybe go back and push your shadows?

For some reason, Russel doesn't really look like himself. I think his head is supposed to be rounder, and I've got this weird optical effect were the amount of darkness around his eye makes me think he has a pupil. Strange.

Here's an ensignia I did for my workshop thread. Looking for crits on it, and also shamelessly attention-whoring ([PLUG] the thread is stickied on the main Animation/Illustration page [/PLUG]).

fade: It looks great and all, but what I think would make it even better is to vary the linewith on your lineart. Maby mine came out to thick, but you'll get the point=)

The logo looks awesome Ri. Maby reduce the pink glow a bit, or remove it.
Or you could have made the objects in the logo have pink reflecting light. Like the cranium and the bones in the middle. It doesent have any pink light on it.

in that case..Maby you could have just used blue glow instead =)

Without the glow. I don't like it as much because the fish-thing gets lost in the forum's background color. Not enthusiastic about casting the pink light everwhere because then I think it will be too pink. Suggestions? Can you upstage me and show me an example of what you're thinking? :P

Great work, Fade.

Some of the textures in there are just pure eye candy! ^_^

Just a quick idea:
If you put a slight film on the unbroken glass of the television, it might give the effect that they are crossing from the digital world into the real one. ;)

But great work, all in all.

Damned beautiful work, Anghenfil--- of course.

That mystical pattern in the center and bottom is so fitting... because the creation of a creature really is a magical thing.

-Give it a venerable, archaic aspect, while retaining that look of raw design and creativity you've so aptly captured.
-Try using a more personalized or calligraphic font-- or even writing the words yourself!

Maby you could have turned the pink closer to the colour blue to match the blue forumcolours. Then make reflective blue light on the objects..
Something like this maby:

though, it didnt turned out the way I planed.

If you know my character Yo, you know Loonit. Well you don't.. you think you don't.. BUT YOU DO.
Yo imagines himself to be Loonit, the alien. *Dribble* Heres a cool art pic i did of him recently :D the early forum members may have seen him before but he is not in any of my movies or website.. YET.
I created him years ago but he never got on the net :P
tell me what you think?

I just made this image, it might be a main character or something for a series i wanna make...I'm just wondering if I'm copying adam, because I wanna be as original as I can.

Here's one I made:

That doesnt look like your copying adam. Tell me what you think you are copying adam with? e.g the ears or are they horns?, the style, the eyes, the feet?

Hehe he must be good at hearing he has 4 ears!!

Also one of the best ways to learn is to draw like the stylz of other artists and them choose a style you like or make your own... (im sure that is posted by someone else in this forum i just cant find it)

The white ears on the top of his head look really out of place. I say ditch 'em. Other than that, I like the Gorillaz/Munch-esque facial design.

There's no such thing as being original; all the good ideas are enevitably used by someone else first. Plaguerism is another matter... ;)

Yep... i'm guessing the main reason why the proportions aren't right is because i just started drawing stright from the wrist... i didn't set down any basic shapes before i started...

Hmm... I NEVER set down any basic shapes when I'm drawing from life - I just draw exactly what I see before me and consciously avoid thinking about shapes (so that I won't be distracted by how something "should" look and instead draw what it actually looks like). It does take some practice, though...

It's also something that forces you to squash your creativity and be really observant instead - it's a completely different type of drawing.

About 5 years ago I was REALLY good at life drawing but could not draw at all anything that was NOT right there before me (cartoons, etc). That's not the case anymore, though - it took a long time but I got to see the other side of the wall eventually... ;)

Looks great munch, I think the hand holding the sword would look more natural with the knuckles facing toward us though - it's possible for a warrior to hold a weapon like that - but mighty uncomfortable!

I get confused with things like that often - I usually just grab a stick or something before I start drawing the hands and try out a variety of poses and roughly take note of their position. Mirrors are always handy too I hear, especially if you're the vain type

Oh and why are you wearing a slytherin scarf? :)

How large do you draw your stuff btw?

Neonakis: I love your vector art - that's one freaky looking dragon! I'm sure you're going to make quite a few halmark cards in your life lol

munch, your gettin better and better, and tht is prolly one of my favorite pics from you!
but there were a few things that i think could be adressed to make the pose a little more realish.

i did a little sketch to show what im talkin about :
Posted Image

first off, it kinda looks like you put the sword in his hand kind of as an after thought, just kinda because his hands are idol and the sword is kinda akwardly held (i might be wrong) try and bring the sword out further from the body and have the blade face the viewer a bit.

another thing you could try is spreading out his body parts a bit more to add to the silhouette value. (not to mention to add a little weight to the character)

also this is minor, and also kind of your style, but maybe play with the shapes of the shoes and not make them so ovalish?

hope i helped munch, i wanna see you become an awesome artist! :)
