@ Colesif; His left leg looks a little too scrawny...maybe you could add a bit more to it? *shrug* |

I'm almost digging the scrawny look; it's kind of stylistic, but you need to make everything consistant, so pick one way and conform the rest of the limbs. The left foot seems to bulky regardless. Stylistically, this is by far my favorite piece you've made. It's got a characteristic "ugliness" and grace that makes him seem fierce and almost unworldly. The head and front paws are beautifully rendered. There isn't much difference between his shadows and highlights, so it's hard to see the countours of his body. Push the colors a little more. And while I adore the scruffy look, think about how to place the stray locks of fur. The arms are better than the legs in this respect. Edit: Two other things: His mouth is looking a little off. It looks like you struggled a bit with it. I think part of the problem is that his bottom jaw doesn't look like it has much structure in it. Make a basic 3d cube to help you block out the dimensions. Lastly, he's got this odd bisected shadow-butt in front. I'd just smooth the line over his crotch so the lines flow freely from one leg into the other. Awesome Cole.

Nice dragon neonakis, did you use flash to make it? Both the drawing and the shading are very clean. Nice crits anghenfil and colesif, I'm learning quite a bit from them. I really like the way you drew that cat too, though it did take me a bit to make out that swords he's wearing. |

haha thanks hmm tips...tips... well first and foremost, a good understanding of the anatomy of the creature you are trying to draw (prolly the most important) second, try to make as dynamic as possible, and try to mimic real life poses, IE not just something standing straight up looking with a blank stare. its also important to show that the character has weight, which can be defined with one curve going from the torso to the foot. If you plan on being around these forums, i suggest you listen to what Aghenfil, Humbleego,Kib, Comlock, and NOOB have to say with art, they know a lot of stuff and are prolly who i learned most of what iknow from. (none of the tips i gave you are set in stone, and if you find something that says otherwise, there is a good chance it might be a better one. im just a mere learner )hope i helped

thanks i really appreciate that, but one reason why i dont put myself in there is because im still very new to art and stuff, ive only been into it for about a year now, and have a massive amount to learn. the people i listed are either art school attendees or graduates, and are learning new stuff from the school every day, where i learn something new kinda second hand and it might not be such a good way. im just a 17 yearold in highschool that leeches off of what they learn
thanks though
 but dont get me wrong, im glad to help if needed

Don't worry Cole, I feel the same way being mentioned in the same breath as the rest of the pantheon. I know people are going to say, "Shut the hell up, you're being stupid," but I still feel that way sometimes. Just be proud you're moving on up.

Haha-- that pidgeon one is a real gut-buster!!
The expression on the face binds so well with the body... That stubby little face gives the bird a sort of 'plucky' look. Who's face is that , anyhow? |

Drawing aborigin people, cos... I want to. Used reference on that one --![]() OMG munch! I liked the previous version better, mainly because your character seemed to have so much personality to it. But that new one is awesome too with all it's Colesif-ness! Keep it up! (I think I'll be voting you for MOTM next month, just for kicks.)

i like it munch! im very impressed in how that came out. technicaly, the smaller head is more anatomicly correct, but i think one of the key features of your character was the larger head, do some quick sketches with the new stuff you learned, and play with poses. this version of munch looks a little more grown up than your otehr, which i think is cuz the head is smaller.i noticed that when i did that with lucky, he got to human like for me, and looked to tall, i fixed it just by making his head larger for the most part, well and widening some of his body parts, but yea. im really impressed tho. keep it up! i wanna see you sketch some stuff in sketchbook or somethin man, all we ever see is flash work and its hard to see how you construct your stuff oh also, try darkening the shadows a bit, they should be more noticeable to Ri- yea i know what you mean, and im definetly proud im being mentioned along with the other bracken-gods, i just dont think im worthy  (but i guess that does a full circle back to waht you just talked about )
