This is brilliant elephant, fantastic. Love it to bits. Great style, great subject. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe you're the first person ever to post up a pic of an Aboriginal Australian on brakenwood this would look great on the side of a mountain or amongst some clouds or something. |

That isn't noobish Schizo, good effort! The only thing I can pick up on is that the nose is a bit wonky, but maybe that's part of the character. Hair might need a rework too, but I'll refer that crit to someone who knows what they're doing

Medved, those drawings really bring back fond memories of the ol' notebook paper days.
Brush up on some basics! I would suggest hopping on over to the Illustration Resource thread and study the pages on figure drawing. The ones at Polykarbon are pretty good for basics. Looks like you're into drawing cats, too! I'd look up cats in this cat-drawing tutorial. Knowing the basics of real cat form will help out your cartoons, guaranteed. Let's see some more drawings! Put your future stuff in the Daily Sketch Thread if you're really serious about improving your art. ------------------------------------------------------ Hey there, Schizo-- welcome to the forums! ![]() Great piece! I like how you've layered the hair. No shortage of detail in there! I agree with Fuzzilogic on the hair. Step back and take a look at it: It appears that the majority of the hair strands are blowing to the right, yet ones on the left side of his head seem unaffected. Also, his brow line is noticeably lower on the left side of the drawing than the right side. Lastly, his nose looks a bit curved-- though that might just be the way it is. I've never played FF7.

Thanks for the Crits guys, and yeah looking at it now the nose is wonky, shouldn't be! Maybe i just have wonkey eyes?? lolI'll work on the hair as well, but i find hair really annoying to get right, and it took me ages to build that up! But thanks all the same! |

Ooooo I like man!!! The only thing is i like the B&W one better because the colored one is like tooo saturated, Check out HumbleEgo's Site to see his Digi work and how he nicely uses somewhat bright colors but makes them more friendly to the eye Other than that keep up the work, and keep on showing us stuff~! |

Niiiice, The biggest problem is the right arm... Where's it coming from? It's as if he has got no elbow, or hes just holding it in a really really weird position. |

hI think you need more darker shadows on the character since the main lightsource is only that small flame in front. Something like this maby: (Even darker shadow would be better I think) ![]() (I just quickly painted with some soft brushes to save time, but you can use your harder ones instead. That's what I usaly do aswell) |
