phantastic work Psybola!

Maybe make the paws and feet a bit larger because they should appear closer? Sorry, this is really rough:

I'm a pretty poor artist though, I'm sure kib or someone can help you with foreshortning - though I'm just trying to contribute better crits than 'wow that looks awesome' (which it does by the way) lol

Also I've noticed that cute cartoons have huuuuuuuuge eyes. Check out Leonard von cotton tail in humble ego's extreme holiday super friends ep 1 (before he turns pshyco)

I've been looking for a bugs bunny ref as a baby but I can't seem to find anything decent

Gone and never to return
Concerning I should draw them more like Tiny Toons:
I'm sorry but I'm not going to go with the f***ing stereotype and draw like everybody else, I prefer having a different style. Crit the anatomy, pose, design, not the style. I base my drawings on real bunnies, I am not going to emulate some shoddy "toon" made by style challenged corporations that are all about selling toys to little kids.
If nobody was meaning to suggest that, never mind then.

Thanks for the crit Fuzzy, I agree the feet could be a bit larger, perspective's off; but the changes on the ears, face, and the existence of a tail on his crotch: uh, no, hehehe, esp. the schlong warmer, er I mean tail. :bing:

Joel, chill....

If toons all looked the same, I think we'd all be pretty bored. And well all know boredom leads to people doing stupid things.

Personally, the "toon" look is annoying to me. It looks over done and really fake. I'm not and artist or animator by any means. I'm sure both styles take a lot of work and practice. Yes I know some toons ARE indeed over the top and fake. Thank God, because if someone did a realistic toon of a rabbit shooting a hunter in the face, (Bugs and Elmer Fud) children would be needing therapy.

I like coming into this thread to veiw and envy other peoples abilities. Over time you see people develop their own style... Isn't that the point?

I'm pretty sure that's exactly the point. And I totally see where you're coming from Psy, but I don't think anyone was trying to tell you to go another route, it was all about the massive eyes for cute factor really. Or at least, that's what I think.

As far as the Tiny Toons goes, completely different program. Open the doors to the hallways of your minds people. Tiny Toons was for our early teens generation when the were kids. Baby Looney Toons was on when I was younger.

As for Baby Looney Toons itself, here's a little picture of it, to show the difference.

:o Woah, awesome painting! Realy cool. I love the textures.I have some crits, but I think I destroyed you're picture instead^^. It's just a matter of style I guess

I didnt think my walrus turned out that well, so screw that part^^. But you could have made lots of yelow reflective lightspots on the strawberries. They look more like strawberries then=) And to make the lights on the cake look more like lights(glowing), you could have swooped over with a big soft edged brush all over them. Right now the yellow colours that is surounding the lights on the cake look a little to dark.

Here's a quick simple method I use to make glowing lights (like candlelight or neonlights)

Posted Image
The objects that is going to glow is painted white, and I go over with a soft edged brush with the colour I want it to be.

Dang, fire is tough! <_< I totally agree with you on the lights, and I'll touch up the strawberries. I'll also experiment with adding a bit more yellow to the top of his head.

Combined, the picture concept was "Divine Walrus's birthday on acid." So having him swimming out of toxic waste isn't that big of a stretch. :P

I love those teeth: divinely crooked.

This is a semi-quick piece I did today at work. We have leftover construction taking place at our new offices, the noise has been driving everyone crazy. We joked about the source of it, this was my theory:

:o awesome rendering! love the light/shadows effects!
the colours match in nicely too. I love your bigbrushed painted style!

What do you do when you're painting this? Do you sketch some rough lineart, then paint with colours over it, till its all covered?

You realy seem to enjoy doing PS painting now. You do it all the time. =)

Just give us a tiny short little videoscreen capture sometime =)
please

It's what I use at work. So, it's the easiest thing (it or Flash) to pick up and paint. I'm a little rusty with Painter. But, I need to get back into it.

Wow, freaking amazing. You blow me away, dude. *Woosh.*

I think the expression could stand to be pushed; the monkey just looks like he's doing his thang, not really being annoying.

I like the face well enough, but after I finished I regetted not pushing the pose more: more arc in the back and more tension in the limbs. But, I followed too closely to my refs. :(

Ultimately, I was messin' round when I should have been workin' :P

Edit:

Ive said this a million times already, but your style gets me all gushy and warm! :P

Ever thought about releasing all those nifty custom brushes of yours Dave? If I said pretty please would it help? Do I need cherries??? Cause Im all out man....
And I have to echo the opinion that I'd sure enjoy seeing a vid showing your actual working process in detail! I think everyone here could learn a ton from watching you go at it! ;)

Yeah, I know. I've always had plans to do just that, but I need time to sit and do it. Maybe I'll see about getting Camtasia installed on my machine at work since that's where I do most of my painting these days.

As for brushes, I plan to release a couple with my Custom Brush tute which is in the works.

lol

i think its fantastic and friggin wierd... lol :D well done

oh and village idiot, to make a custom brush, jsut create a new canvas in photoshop then blot sum random dots down, not too many and fairly far apart and make sure they are black then go to Edit> Define brush preset, and ull figure out the rest pretty easy
this example is good for hair etc. and make sure ur canvas isnt too big aswell...
