Now now, don't be rude.
There is such thing as satellite... Whether or not that's used for internet yet, i dunno. But hey, they have a flying airship, so why not.

Thanks tommo, and I agree with the craziness of peoples yards. Everyone has their little square of grass and they like to make it look all fancy without having to take care of it. Even though nature takes care of itself, but I guess it has to look the "right way". And bardaux, thats awesome! I wasn't able to do it... im not that good with photoshop.

No need to argue about the phone lines. Who need computers and such when you're surrounded by nature? I would spend most of my time exploring, climbing, tending to the gardens :D I honestly would love to live without machines. This computer of mine takes up way too much of my time and I feel like I've wasted so much of my life on it when I could have been out exploring the world. But who needs to explore when you can put a pizza in the microwave, turn on the tv, and check out your home with googlemaps <_<

extra note: tommo, airships run on gas whether it be hot air or helium.

oh u mean like... hot air balloons!!!! spose they jsut have different names in australia and wherever u live, america?

and i am with you on living without machines, and if i had a choice iw ould just go exploring the everywhere, but nowadays you need money to do that...which is bullshit. and you cant go into certain places because they are protected, but they let hunters in for sum fucked reason.
you know theres a speckled white duck or sumthing and theres only like 10,000 left in the wild and hunting season just started in australia and 2-3 of them got killed the first day. and 43 protestors got fined for walking into the place without a permit. how retarted is that....
neway not to turn this into a rant about sumthing this thread isnt about, jsut thought id share it, its kinda got something to do with wat ur picture is about lol

yeh i think all power comes over telephone polls aswell, its jsut all connected.

oh and bardaux i was gonna do that! guess i was more lazy than you though.. <_<
what did ya use to get rid of em, it looks like this thing i found a while ago but now cant find it again... it like blurs out a bit that u paint over sort of... was that it?

ah well heres mine

I used the Healing Brush
It works a bit like the Clone Stamp; You select the tool, hold ALT to change cursor to a crosshair, and select where you want to take pixels from. Release ALT and go brush over the thing you want to cover up. The difference about Healing Brush is that is blends the pixels after you take them to make it look smoother. The trick is to select from areas that are similar to what's supposed to be behind the thing you're covering up.

The Clone Stamp tool is directly below it

oh that must have been it..... yeh i used clone in mine, i dont think it really neeeds to smooth out that much in that particular picture, because its just forest, its not like you know how the tree has to look like, it would be different if it were like a persons face and u put the ear like on the forehead or sumthing lol, but with the trees you can just extend them over the power line to cover it up and no one knows the difference ;)

woah i just used the healing and i take back everything i jsut said, that actually works real well!
but for sumreason in urs, i dunno why, it looks all cross hatchy... got any ideas why?

why not brontosaurus?

The famed (though veddy nawsty) North American paleontologist Othniel Charles Marsh (from Yale) misidentified a sauropod skeleton during the hotly contested bone wars (sounds painful ) - Marsh, thinking the fossil was a new species, named the specimen 'brontosaurus' (Greek for thunder lizard). However, it was later discovered that Marsh's Brontosaurus excelsus was actually an adult Apatosaurus, an earlier juvenile find from 1887.

So, being scientific n all, he admitted his mistake, and everyone in the trade reverted back to the correct species name - Apatosaurus.

Hmmm, so there you are. Fred Flintstone eat your heart out

edit: oh by the way humble, why would you base a dragon on an Apatosaurus skull? very weak jaw structure, herbivorous dentition (I mean, these guys need to eat gastroliths just to digest their food properly!) small brain case etc. etc.

Actually...that would be an awesome concept - a vegetable eating dragon (its mine! I thought of it first!)

On a side note, I'd just like to say how lucky you buggers are in the US, having access to some of the greatest natural history museums in the known universe. As a young lad, I would have given my sister's gullet just to catch a glimpse of thems beautiful fossils - so quit wasting time in front of the playstation, get out there and get some culture in to ya!

*end pointless rant*

Not the skull, just the neck. I was looking at long necks because his old one had neck issues. I also looked at giraffes.

Oh, and terribly sorry to use the wrong name, that's the old grade school education lingering I suppose.

We're getting t-shirts made up for everyone in the Art Group at work. As you may have guessed, with that many cooks in the kitchen, we'll have to vote on many versions from various artists. Below is my entry:

Well, basically, I got some black spray paint and made some different markings and scanned them. Then in PS, I did a Levels adjustment and copied the contents into the mask of a Solid Color layer. Then I invert the mask to make it appear correctly.

I then copied that layer into my monkey PSD. In this case, I made it white and orange. But, I didn't do the spray paint just for this shirt. I just happened to have scanned a bunch of different markings to use as custom brushes and base layers. It just happened to come in handy for when this project popped up today. :bfoot:

BTW, I'm going for the black shirt too, I just made the white version just in case we had to go that route. ;)

Wow, that's fantastic!

The lowered left arm on the back illustration is bothering me a bit for some reason - the muscle definition looks a bit off (or is it just stylised?) - however, it still gets the fuzzy illogic stamp of whoop ass - the sense of scale and the expressions are wonderous. And I really dig those textured backgrounds you do for all your work.

Anyway, all that's left to say is - good luck! :)

Yeah, I just half-assed the anatomy on the second one. The problem is that I spent too much time on the front side, so I had to churn out the back.

To Tommo:

This is for just where I work, that's why you've not heard of it. We're getting shirts made up for all the artists here. Som we've got to pick between all the artists that made a design.

I love that gorilla drawing on that wacom tablet. And you're rendering is so awesome. You make it -seem- like it so quick and easy to do. I like the black design. (Can we see the other peoples suggestions?=))

And give us a little video screencapture soon! =)

I tried for a speed paint myself, but the brushwork and rendering always look ugly and messy. And if I avoid using soft edged brushes in some areas, it always looks crap.

bleego they are absolutely amazing!!!!! the black one definately!

i love how big he is using the tiny wacom tablet...brilliant and then getting pissed off at it!! amazing art!! one thing though, the second pic (for the back) looks like the gorilla has no hair, and realising that it it the same gorilla as the front isnt overly evident at first. I realised it was him cuz he got pissed off, but he sorta looks bald. But still its no biggy, cuz the fact that the art work is so fucking brilliant makes one ignore that minor issue.

What does it say on the screen? Is it a program error? is that why the gorilla is pissed off? lol it'd be funny if it was.

come on be honest, do u think urs will be picked? Are you better than ur collegues?

another quick question...the paint splatter effect...did u make it or u find it as a texture, or did u create the texture using actual paint and photograph it? id love to know how to make it that good.

EDIT NUMBER 3:

U need to make a tut on creating realistic hair..pwetty pwease?
