Damn nice shade work AntiSeal! I really like the overall design.
The only crit I have is that the sword in the forefront appears to be resting on Drakes shoulder, perhaps a bit of shadow under it to make it look as though he is swinging it?

Overall though, one of your best works yet dude! Good stuff! :bfoot:

Bug, ninja, dragon... Interesting mix.

One thing I might suggest is experimenting with varying the line widths, making them thicker near shadows and thinner near highlights, etc. I think it'd really make it pop out more.

I also think (as alot of people always tell ME) that you could push the shadows and highlights a bit more. There isn't a whole lot of contrast at the moment. ;)

---

Anyway, I might as well plug my own work while i'm here :)

HI-RES version here

Originally for the Illustration Activity. It's my insecurity demon, but I changed my mind on the design, and made it just for the sake of making it. Everything is by me except the brain texture in the background.

Please! critique the hell out of this thing.

Oh! and sorry about the size... but the majority of the content is in a small area anyway.

Tom, that's fekkin' great, man!

The tones are very smooth, and the subtle backlighting creates such a perfect atmosphere. You really ought to submit this in the demon-activity thread. :bing:

The one thing that I noticed immediately about it was that the candle seemed too dim. For a piece that has so much darkness there ought to be lighter values where you want the attention.

You've placed all of the value-differences well, so once you add a little level-editing and candle-highlighting:

Oo!! That brain-tecture really comes out, huh?? :++:

Of course, the levels may have placed too much lighting in some places, but you get the idea.

This is some great work, Tom!

Its kind of supposed to be. The cat is a spirit, not strictly bound by anatomy. I meant to draw the flow of the body a bit more C shaped.

Decided as my first contribution to post some vectored artwork that I did for a girl a little while back. It's based on a real picture of her because I dont think I could do it from memory
