Reference was used since I'm still working on anatomy but I felt like doing a paint. Originally for fizzy but i was too slow getting round to doing it so I nicked it for one of my characters

Tom: brillient!! It must be so hard to draw something that big!

Dash: looks great, hope you good I hope you get in!

Sweaterjon:  I love the style, the pose AND the concept!

Thegreatlol: like it, the colours are bright and at the same time darkened to suit the night scene. If you can, I'd paint over the solid line under the moon to help the flow

Im loving this! your showing a brilliant adaptation of the ref here. And i think in some cases a paint over will teach you more than a free form, but remember i wanna see your home brew stuff as well!

You have loads of potential, Aside of cleaning up your definition this piece looks nearly finished!

Kudos!

As for anatomy, gesture drawing helped me loads to keep from having awkward poses on my figures, as for detail anatomy work your best bet is ref, which is what you've been doing so bleh! Why am i saying anything at this point?

Hiya, this is my first ever photoshop drawing. Be gentle, I went a bit over the top with the smudging tool but I'm quite happy with it. Critism would be nice :D

I guess we will see in the following days! I actually got nominated this month!

Silly Brackenites!

*evil laugh*

Dan-

I cant see nothing mate. Not even a broken link :(

EDIT:

Seeing it now, i might have posted too soon. Overall its good for a first, as a paint your missing a bit of contrast. Remember to pick a light source and shade in, most time shading in a paint gives a work most of its definition. Otherwise not bad :D

I might just have a bias towards zombies though.

Speaking of Zombies... (Zoink! Segway...!) im gonna go pass out now before I type some weird deranged comment ill regret. Cheers.

Danimater for a first that's bloody brilliant! (you should see mine it's appalling!)
One word of advice though: avoid the smear at all costs! It will eat your brain like your zombie!!

The best way to blend colours I find is to use a basic brush with 50% opacity and 61% flow then draw you darkest colours over your lightest colour and idrop the colour that blends between, then use that one over the darkest and idrop the next blend. Kepp doing that and you get a nice smooth blend. If you dont like the lines inbetween then you can smooth those out with a blur tool. Don't be afraid to get in close and expreiment with the texture and lighting. The hardest thing I find to get righ is contrast and I still struggle with it. When you paint make your pixel size quite big so you can go into details if you feel like it

Posted Image

I havn't changed it much but I've added the blending technique to the right. What ever people tell you though you can always edit the techniques you're taught to suit your own style. I spent months experimenting with all the tools that photoshop has to offer and I'm slowly refining my technique. Keep up the great work and you'll soon over take me and become an Espen :D

I need to log and get to bed so ill make a few quick comments...

Chirty-

Seems a bit stiff, try drawing him in motion, you will learn more about posing/proportions alot more that way.

Combine-

Nice nice. You have the dimensions correct and perspective looks good. My only suggestion is to amp the detial. I dunno if you rounded the corners to make it more sleek, but mostly trains are very blocky and detail intense. Heres some links if you need some ref or inspiration.

I was going for a different kind of train.. the train that I drew has a round boiler.
I searched for old trains. and believe it or not many older trains are exually rounded. but thnx for your crit : D

Second painting i've done, First full body painting.
I enjoyed doing it but I struggled with the clothes (jeans inparticular) and I still cant get my proportions right.
All done in fireworks with a mouse.

Prometheus-

Those are looking good, it seems like you grasp color concept well and are beginning to understand the proportions and human form much more. Ide suggest making your characters more dynamic, i can see from the rain painting you can set a mood. Now lets see some motion.

Chirty-

You need to define it! Im not sure whats a leg or whats a arm or whats a head. Give em hands for loves sake so i can sort him out!

Silvershadow-

AWESOME for mouse, i cant really give crits on form or proportions becuase you arent using a pen! Get one!

The color looks pretty good, you might desaturation and use more dynamic lighting just to darken it up a tad since right now its a bit on the bright side for my taste. Other than that its great!

Love the look that you went for the water splatter and for a mouse that some serious skill! Not sure what you use but there are tools that can help you with the line work in some photo shop software like adobe.

I admire your handy work, youve progress a lot since the last time ive seen your work . Keep it up YAY!

See, this is what we call Spam... and spam is BAAAAAAD!!!!

Your post had absolutely nothing to do with the thread, and did nothing to help the thread along. People here are smart enough to know what you meant, even with typos. Please refrain from posting things like that in the future. If you type things wrong, there is an Edit button on the top right of every post you make, and it will be there for up to 24 hours after you post. Use that from now on.

That having been said, your drawing is nice... what program did you paint it in?
