CD cover (Front and Back) for my graphic arts class.

Seriously. I would NEVER even listen to this band! Why did I draw something so horrific?!?!

Im not sure about that one, Melk. But mark this: any lesser man would have made a truly regretful piece. You'll prolly get feedback from class, but a suggestion would be to make the title stand out more. If you don't want it bigger, than maybe put a white spraypaint outline around that red blob, maybe even make a thin white line inside the black writing, just to give the title an extra "pop."

But this is a finished art thread, so I will post something I recently finished. It is a birthday present for a friend. We both agree the band Rammstein is ausgezeichnet! So this is a charcoal drawing [30x20"] of the 6 band members and some of their famous pyrotechnics in action. If you're a pyromaniac, you should watch some of their concerts. Even if you don't like the music, mute it and watch, mmm, Feuer...
I digress. The image took about 15 hrs from start to finish, including going through their latest concert footage to find good snapshots. Pardon the quality of the photo of the drawing, I swear it looks better in person... XP

15 hrs huh, you must really like this friend ;) . That's one hell of a present though! I've always loved charcoal pieces and you do it very well. Only crit from me would be to get a white crayon and make the highlights pop some more (forgive me if you already did this and the camera just didn't pick it up)

Oho, I thought that was fun. It looks like Richard is a tree growing out of Olli's head. I also tried to blend the topleft's [Richard] head into the cymbal. Olli's shoulder also turns into Flake (with accordian). And flamethrower's back is the contrast negative space on Paul's neck.

So it was on purpose, I didn't want to just have || wham!! solid ending of a person, and a simple fade gadient was too easy.

scarrabee: the blendings are great! definately not a minus point. Makes the piece flow

Bardaux that's stunning, your friend better like it! And yes Rammstein rock. They even eat beer glasses to scare people in pubs

Melker - I like it, the simple bold lines look good :) . The swirl for the sea might look better if it was centred under the island though.

Was it just random or done for a particular reason?

Looks like you have a selective light... The moon is reflecting but the island isnt? Don't forget if you'r gonna do a detail make it consistent!

This is my first attempt at a realistic digital painting. I would defiantly appreciate some criticism.

Normally I'd say brighten the light of the fire reflecting off the fur but the duller reflection gives a more matt, sinister feel. Really love the dark atmosphere in this peice!

Woah! If you made that into a wallpaper Melker, i would totally use it.

Edit:

Aren't those skyscrapers in the credits of Sesame Street?

@Munch: Thanks! I was kind of thinking that the creature's right arm was a little too long, but I'm really not sure. >.<

@Combined: Playing with colors is always fun ^-^

@Pillow: Hmm... maybe I'll try a little brightening. Who know? Perhaps it'll turn out ok.

@Antiseal: It's 800x600, can't it be a wallpaper? And they're not quite the same, but now that you mention it I do see a similarity.

EDIT:

Mmkay, so here's some added brightness. I'm thinking I should have added it a different way, but maybe it looks okay anyways.

Looking good. Technically, the ground near the tail would probably be a whole lot brighter too, casting his ground shadow foward, but that might (as pillow mentioned) detract from the 'Lurking' feeling. (If you're wanting to experiment though, it wouldn't hurt to try.) ;)

Also, something I made yesteday

Not for me, I run Dual Monitors at over 1000x1000 (I ain't home right now so I can't check my res)

Most monitors today run well over 800x600, so it you stretch it the image quality will suffer.

Not yet; I don't think I have enough artwork for one. Just Photobucket for now. :)

I've been so busy with school this year that there hasn't been a whole lot of time to draw something I'd actually feel good about posting. So to make up for lost time, I decided to make a shirt for Threadless. Something fun and easy on the eyes to start:

The poor snail is getting a bit lost right now, so I might end up bumping the contrast. Anything else before I submit?

Wow, I love that! I'm seeing such good art today. Your stuff is so effortless, Ang. For some reason, at first glance, I thought he was surfing a wave. :D

I like your use of perspective and character style. I personally can't think of much to critique...the only thing I thought of at first was to make the snail a bit more noticeable, but you've thought of that already. Sorry I'm not much help, I think I like it a bit too much to be objective!

...Just a thought (this may be completely unhelpful), but from far away, my eye jumps to his feet. I love the coloring and design on them, but they're the brightest thing in the picture, and I'm not sure you want them in the spotlight. He is running, I know...
