Sorry about the delay folks. If you know me, you understand. If your new.... just deal with it and get used to it!![]() There were only three entries in the "Smoke on the water, Fire in the sky" exercise, all of which were very well done. Woolf Gang's entry seen here: Was exceptionally well done with the fog elements, Woolf... had you made even a sickly 'lil flash of lightening you would have taken this hands down man! But considering there was NO lightening I had to disqualify the entry. Vec's use of AS for his entry was brilliant and inspired as usual, and he was the early leader for the win, But then came along Cel with his entry: And being as there can only be one winner per comp, Cel takes this one! Congrats dude, your banner is here: I will PM you download instructions soon. And that of course means its time for yet another Effects Exercise! This time your challenge is to: Shiver Me Timbers!! For this exercise your scene should consist of a sparse forest being affected by the wind. How much wind? How many trees? How would I show moving air? As usual, these are all questions that I am leaving up to you to decide. You have the "base" rules below that MUST be adhered to, otherwise you are up to your own devices to get the job done in your own way! Them Rules The core scene must show a forest or treelined area. All entries can be animated with whatever program you choose to use, however final entries must be submitted as .swf. Screen size is to be set at 500 pixels wide by 300 pixels high. Animations MUST include a foreground and a background element. Final entries must be posted to this thread no later then January 20th, 2006 to be eligible.Judging will be based upon the best use of effects in order to create the scene as closely as described. Good luck to you all! Them Prizes Level 1 - The Effects Master Level 2 - The Effects Guru Level 3 - The Effects God |

 j/kEDIT: Here's 3 hours of work. It's not finished, but I think I can get it done by tommorow. Gotta add like 10 more trees, bushes, and other objects around. Add some effect for wind maybe, and that's pretty much it. |

Cool Vec! Looking forward to seeing how you approach this one! A special rule just for you though Vec.... No using of any of Sham's code! I know he is working on a sway engine for grass etc..... that could be adapted to this task very easy I imagine!

Thanks everyone!
Mmm, actualy, it said I can make a tree line too. And like I said, there's gonna be way more trees and bushes on the right. So, there's gonna be some forest element to it.
Eeeek!
That was the plan.
Hmmm, alright. After this comp I'll make a tutorial and post the .fla on how I did this one. Edit Here you go. The final (maybe) version of my pic. It might change in the future, if someone will make something good and threaten my victory but I'm pretty sure I'm done for now.
 As for "movement of the air".. Well, air is transparent. Sorry to disappoint. Though, you can pretty much see the wind on everything.Psst, Adam.. Whatcha think? |
