Mine is really easy.. it's Zohar, which means glow, so in sarus that would be frs.
Yay me :bing:

My names Steven, derived from a greek word for "crown."

It was hard to decide, but I went with "on strong head."

So..."dfm rlm mrs"

"Dofami relami mireso"

Let me know if you come up with anything better than "on strong head."

As it's my name as well, I tried for my own definition. Steven is a alternate spelling of Stephen which means 'Crown' or 'Wreath'. Since many roman emperors wore garlands in place of crown, I came up with:

Mrs = Head

Lf = Of

Smr = Wilderness

Oddly enough, the first and last word are alphabetically opposites, which could be interpreted by a Yu-yu as someone who has a balanced personality.

I tried "holder of the heel" and ended up with something like:
"owner of the back claw"
"mrr lf l tsl tmm" (is that right?)
which kind of screws the meaning a bit.

For supplanter I got
"he who creeps into place" (to supplant = to replace in a underhand way)
"dt mr ftt sdt sfr"
Kind of a misnomer i think. ;)

For "may god protect"
"may the light father hide from accident" <_<
"dfr l frs rfl fsr lf stm"
Thats just kinda ....

edit:
"may the light farther hide from hurt"
"dfr l frs rfl fsr lf srr"
Thats a little better but not much :worry:

teff- u should try "may the light father hold"

dfr l frs rfl mrr

my name is ryan or "young ruler"

from as far as i can judge, I can use young leader, if adding the plural to a verb makes it work

radome fafatido - - - - - :2: :1: :3: - :4: :4: :7: :1:

is fafatido leader, or leads?

does it matter??

if love = frt, then lover = frtl, as far as I know you just tack an l onto it. I only know this because when Adam gave us Brackenwood names a while ago, mine had a frtl in it too. ;)

I think i know how that works: in sarus to make a plural you add the syllable after the last; loves would be frtD. For adding er it looks like you take the letter before; frtL. Sound like it could be right to you? Seriously, i could do with feedback!

my name is james (yet another); I'm very sneaky but "Df mr smt fsm" is taken, i'm not religious so i wont use any of those meanings, so what shall i use? hmm...

(rarious profanities) almost everything has religious origins! perhaps i could use my personality: o look, this is still up. well i've come up with something: "df mr dd fsr l smd" "He who conceals the night".

I'm open to comments, criticism and advice.

I just picked a word to be my name. Your idea is good, though. But some names (more 'original' names) don't have meanings. I did make a list of possible "just words" names, though.
Some of them are pretty bad, but humor me.

Dreamer-Lrfm
Sleeper-Mrtl
Runner-Tdmr
Walker-Mdtl
Hope-Ttd
Helper-Rdtl
Hoper-Ttdt
Red-Mlm D
Thinker-Frls
Fast one-Dlm
Forest-Sld
Friend-Rtl
Beautiful-Ft ltt
Believer-Ldlt
Chaser-Tlmr
Wind-Frf
Youngest-Rdmf
Grower-Rltl
Tree-Dls

To explain the stranger names like leaf or tre-I figured since Brackenwood is just a huge forest, more nature-ish names would be more common

I like this idea actually.

So, hi, I'm Robert... "Bright Fame" :wbitey:

As Adam's dictionary does not yet have the word "fame" I opted for "bright well know" I'm still not familiar enough with :5: :2: :5: (That should say sarus  ) to know how to conjugate "know" in to "known" like I would prefer to do. Any suggestions on how to do that or alternative names?

As it stands this is my sarus name "frs dfd lrl"

My name is Sarah, which means princess. The closest to which I could find is 'girl Queen'.

Lsd Lfrl
Lasud Lafryl

But there were other ways for coming up with a name, that I saw about a year ago, I think.
Like Sarah
Sr
Because

or

T Lrf
'Dreaming'

Out of those, I pick T Lrf.

my name is kinda akward, and I'm not very good at srs  , its Amber in English, and I read somewere that it means "preciouse thing" in Arabic. I don't know if there is a word for "Preciouse" in srs, and the closest I'v found is valuable, witch I hope is rrfdr, or I'm very wrong indeed and should be beaten to within an inch of my life, whatever that means. but this is how I interpreted my name! :P
Either: rrfdr msd drs OR ltt msd drs. I can loose the msd to shorten to! :D

Seems like people have more of an interest in finding a sarus name than learning the language. I can understand that, but I wanna encourage people to give it a try. I've been trying to learn, but it's hard to when there's nobody to practice with. Haven't been many recent posts in the Sarus Discussion forum. I want this language to stay alive, as I'm sure many do.

You've probably noticed my sarus translator in my sig. This is my attempt to get more people going into the Sarus Discussion, having the translator right there. I invite anybody to put in in their sig if they wish to. You can PM me for the correct coding.

And to stay on topic, my sarus name is ffsl tf tlmr

Plug it into the translator (one word at a time) to see what it says.

I want to keep Sarus alive too, but I have to learn it first! and I still haven't mastered English OR French! :worry: And I have my GCSE's coming up, and I cant get on the computer without my parents permission or unless I'm at school! so its a little hard at the minite. Also, I decided on a name! THIS IS IT!:Msd trt. or :m::s::d: :t::r::t: or Mesuhduh Tiruhtuh, OR in olde sarus, Mesodo Tireti. I like them all!

there's no word for tlrls, but if you split it you can get:

tlr ls = shrink never

tl rls = can't stream

t lrl s = knowing if

t lr ls = yes now never

t l rls = is the stream

tl r ls = can't and never

heheh

is not very positive...

it should be
can't stream

but... sounds... kind of bad... (I'm not 100% sure of the meaning of that...) but I don't like it

maybe
can't and never

no wait...
is the stream ...
is... the... stream...
sounds nice
"es la corriente" ^_^
I like it

rd mfm t t l rls
I need to fix that

Hmm...my name means "warlike" in old Anglo-Saxon, lesse if the dictionary's got that...

EDIT: Lareso Falatila = aggressive attacker, me likes. :bitey:

Funny, I heard graham meant of gray home, so I ended up with
tr rmr d mlm rms (he of not coloured home)
Though I like your's better.

Hi Kyr, welcome to Brackenwood.
I replied to your query about this in your first post (New Members thread):

str = ghost, spirit
strm = ghosts, spirits

You'll find that in Sarus, most 4-syllable words are variations of 3-syllable words ;)

Kind off topic but not really,
but how would you say cheese in sarus?
Because, one of the meanings of my name is a low-fat cheese. Wikipedia says I'm the baker's cheese so yay for me!!
but I wanna know how to say cheese in sarus so I can have two sarus names!

This is the real off topic part:
When are intermediate lessons being added? And also, how come the online trainer is down but the examiner isn't(or are they the same thing)?

Well, you could create a name that rhymes with your acual (possibly full) name. I did this and it came out really cool: as Dark Day (Soruf Domis). You could just make up a random phrase too.
