I decided that because KF is always posting such lovely photos of dilapidated buildings and such, I figured I'd have a go and take form of my own. Because I already posted them on DA, I'll just like you guys there, but have a look and tell me what ya think (either here or there, it makes no difference).

Note, all shots were taken with my Canon 350D and nearly all were with my 50mm f1.8. There was virtually no PP, just a simple balance of color here or there, but most are essentially straight from the camera.

LINKAGE!! :gasp:

I really like number six; the radiance of the sky is pretty appealing, especially now that it's cold and dreary here in Minnesota, but aside from that image, i'm afraid I can't really see any great pictures. Sorry, but they're just not too terribly appealing.

What you may want to do is pick up a decent tripod, get into the manual settings, and try to work that way. What camera do you have, by the way?

I just have a tempermental digital camera. Photography isn't exactly my hobby, I just take pictures if I happen to be handed a camera. #six was my fav too. I was rushing to post these last night so I didn't really go through and judge them too well. Most likely I'll never get my hands on a tripod, but thanks for the crit!

Well, if you ever do decide to pick it up as a hobby, a light, sturdy tripod doesn't cost much and would help loads when you have to deal with such little light, as would purposely underexposing a shot in order to keep it from being blurry (the idea would be to set the shutter speed only as high as it needs to be in order to get a crisp picture, even if that meant underexposure because you could lighten it on the computer later).

I liked the second of the two slideshows better, Prometheus, but I will say that when they were tweened/growing it was a little hard to see the crisp detail.

Yeh, well, my first digital camera, i have an old USSR issue Zorkii 4, over 40 years old but works good. I ahve about 4 rolls lieing around. Haven't gotten around to dealing with those.

I haven't realy figured out the best setting for night and twilight time. That's when there's something to see and the auto settings for night and twilight are so that you have to stand still for like 6 seconds but to be sure, no one can stay like that in strong wind.

You need a tripod to take night shots otherwise it WILL be blurry. Best to invest in one. In order the catch all the very little light at night, the ISO speed of the shutter slows way down and any movement will mess it up.

You got some nice pictures there Xavo. I like the one of the id standing with the music lyrics next to him, the one that was titled "underwater", and the single eye picture. Also, adding the music notes onto the piano was nice. Good job.

Yes, I did... I got the desired close-upness by picking the crab up in my fingers and holding it in front of the camera. The poor thing was scared to death, probably.

I love sky shots, especially in the early morning of the winter/late fall, and just before a storm. I took these in November.
