Few trivial snapshots. Took them with the girl's Canon EOS 350D. The pictures were slightly overexposed so I had to tweak in Photoshop a little.

Those are very flattering snapshots, elephant; I'm sure she was very pleased, as she damn well better have been.

Here's a link to a photo I recently took while at a golf/yacht resort in Northern Minnesota. Crits are very welcome.

So they did an convent in Gothenburg, sweden, and I was there. It' was a lot of fun with TV games, they had Wii there :3 And funny minds on the scene.

Hey all, been a while since I've been back here to BW....here's the last of the photos from the St. Louis trip (some, like Folville, might remember some from previous posts a while back):

Keep the photography thread goin! I just bought a wide angle lens that I've been wanting for ages, so hopefully I'll have more to contribute soon.

I don't even need to see his name to recognize the crisp detail in ketchupface's medium format work; it's derelict and delectable at the same time! What sort of exposures were you getting for these shots? Judging by the light and DOF, I'd have to say you were looking at some pretty long shutters, but maybe I'm wrong.

The watch shot is the best of your set, Tom; I'd say you could improve it only by framing it so that the base of the hands doesn't get cut out of the frame and by moving into a dark room with diffused natural sunlight for a more natural effect without the reflection of lights like those visible in your current photo. I like it though. I'm guessing that the orange cast on the bricks in your second photo is from a street lamp; if it is, I'd like to see the lamp and parts of that wall in context with a more easily understood scene because, frankly, the wall is none too interesting on its own.

One more thing, why is the 4 represented as IIII instead of IV?

*edit

I really dig numbers 3 and 4, KF; the way the rails on the stairway lead up to the greenish room really give the photo a sense of depth, and as much as I want to be bothered by the off axis framing in number four, I can't find fault in the glimmering light in the room that's off in the distance through the darkened corridor. Great work! :bing:

dangermouse, I have some PS actions and misc. techniques that I think would really nicely complement your photos and maybe make more dramatic the feel that I believe you were going for; I'd be happy to try them and repost the edited images if that meets with your approval. :D

I'm concerned for her. How long has she been in this condition?

Ketchup! I love you. lol I mean you...r pics....

Anyway, have they been photoshopped in anyway. Some of those pics look like HDRI images. Lovely detail.

I would love to see a person standing in the last pic you posted. Kinda like a fashion photo shoot, but wearing really vibrant clothes. Like a vibrant red hoodie, so it retains that urbanesque feel with a cool contrast in colour and the bland bg.

 ;)

Heheh, thanks for the comments, except those from Juggz, who now has a restraining order against him. X-D

Jp <3

Folville: I don't remember exactly what the exposures were, but the absence of atmospheric light often requires taking up to 4 second exposures in dark areas. Varies quite a bit.

Juggz: I do run my scanned photos through Photoshop & tweak the levels & occasionally adjust saturation (if I like the composition but not the colors of a shot, I'll often drop it to B&W), but I try not to depend on PS. I try to get everything the way I want it when I'm still behind the lens, but I'm no pro, so that's where PS comes in.

And actually, Jug, the last time I went out I took a lovely friend of mine who happens to do modelling part time & got a couple pictures of her in the setting purely from your similar suggestion from last time. That roll is still in the camera, but as soon as I spend it, I'll be sure to post em up here just for you :) .
