Oh, yea. It's an old car battery. I was walked all over the property with my camera and just snapped a few shots of stuff. And another. This one I liked because there was the random opening in the trees. A slight arch.

That second shot (the processed sunset) still does look pretty nice, edible. Like you said, it's not terribly original, but who's going to pass up a shot like that? I will comment that the flower/bee shot is a little less sharp than it could be, and the vignetting is a little odd, but I would like to see a closer crop of the subject (if one exists).

totally agree folville. i managed to find the original shot of the bee. here it is.. i do wish the flower was a different colour from the bee for better contrast...

I stand corrected. The flower shot is plenty sharp; it seems well focused. What does bother me though, is like you said the color of the flower (can't really change that) and the way it's framed. Knowing where and how to crop a photo is a really good skill to have. That centered subject is fine for the original, but get creative with the cropping!

Here are a few photos I took in Venice, Italy when I was on a trip with some friends to Italy last March: A sunset outside the Grand Canal: http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0115.jpg A balcony above one of the small Canals: http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0076.jpg Another gondala passes by: http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un.../IMG_0075-1.jpg Two shots of me and my friend Talis's Gondala ride: http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0074.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0073.jpg And, finally, a picture of the 'Bridge of Sighs': http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0048.jpg (This was accidental- pretty lucky on my part) I'd post a few more, but I took 956 photos, and I havn't organised them! Once I do, i'll give you guys some more(if you like these). |

Haha--- that's quite a coincidence that you caught the bridge while photographing your friend.
Those pictures bring back many memories for me--- I had the privilege of visiting there when I was 13. Did you go through the bridge into the prisons? Very dark and mysterious in there. ![]() Though Venice has its sights and tourist attractions, the absolute best part of it are the backstreets, off the beaten path as it were. All the all the common folk live back there and mill around the markets--- you run into lots of street merchants, too.(they try their hardest to sell you purses and imitation Gucci watches.) Those are where the best pictures are, truly. Post up more! |

EDIBLE - It's hard to do something that hasn't been done before....I wouldn't worry too much about that. I have at least a dozen sky/sunset photos, and there's nothing wrong with that. Photograph anything that inspires you & don't let yourself be filtered. Oh and btw, post-processing isn't cheating....it's pretty much standard these days. UNDEAD - Venice looks beautiful....I'm jealous. |

I agree. After we saw a glass making demonstration, me and Talis went through the streets(and St. Mark's). It was so quite and antiquated! I took a few shots, but I could have taken more. Here, I picked the cream of the crop of mt Venice photos: 1. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0099.jpg 2. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0097.jpg 3. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0104.jpg 4. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0093.jpg 5. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0065.jpg 6. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0045.jpg 7. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0070.jpg 8. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0090.jpg 9. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0102.jpg I didn't take many of Venice(my bad; only 124 on a camera with room for 1600), but these are the ones I liked the most. Here are a few from Florence(I took way more): The countryside from our bus http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0133.jpg The old Town Hall(i'm pretty sure) http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0140.jpg Outside Florence's Art Gallery http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0151.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0152.jpg I'd post more, but i'll keep these from getting too big...besides, I need to go help my dad destroy the kitchen! I'll get some more up later. |

Hmmmm....I remember seeing that guy in the Vatican Museum. I took pictures of all the statues in that room! One of my favourite memories from that place was when our tour guide pinched my cheek and complimented me(damn, I've forgotten why)! Everybody laughed, and we all had a good time. That's an awsome photo, btw. Mine's pretty generic. Heres a few good photos from that museum: http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0440.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0451.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n190/Un...an/IMG_0464.jpg And here's my pic of that statue: ![]() He weilds the mighty lightening club! I havn't a clue but my eye was instantly drawn to him and I couldn't pass up the photo, he was sketching the square whilst sitting on a fountain, the sketch was good and the guy was friendly enough to pull faces at my baby brother who I was holding at the time, but still he's a mystery. Taken on the second day I spent in Rome
