Hi everyone ! I've been searching for the answer to this question most of the day on google with little to no luck. I came across this forum though, and was hoping maybe someone here can help me out :). I'm extremely new to actionscripting, and only recently found out about the scripted camera code which would make my animations soooo much easier to make... With one exception... You see my problem is, on the current movie I am working on, I have a simulated widescreen effect going on by using a black frame around the default flash stage. (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/255119 was my first finished animation, and is example enough to show what I mean.) Now with the scripted camera in place, I can't figure out how to make the black frame work independently of the camera. In Neophyte_Ronin's "The Big Fat Tutorial" on newgrounds(http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/236757, where I actually found out about the scripted camera) they show how it works in their tutorial, and some how keep the text and buttons independant of the moving camera. How was this done? To sum it up without my drawn out jabbering, can you make objects stationary and independent of the camera's movements? Thanks to anyone that can help.Sharper

Put the black frames inside of the camera movie clip.

Actually that was the first thing I tried ^.^;;
for some reason adding anything else to the camera movieclip turns invisible for me o.o unless I did something wrong...
Thanks!
--edit-- Oh I have to correct myself here. If I change: to
and then change the entire veiw finder into my widescreen frame, that works... But this in turn this gets rid of the color thing and the cross hair's I had made... And has me wondering if that will effect the code at all it seems to work fine still, but if theres any other suggestions I'd be glad to hear them. I think I'm going to go see if this works with play and pause buttons as well. Thanks again Mr.Jiggmin
